Though many consider this to be the most wonderful time of the year, for those who may be struggling physically, mentally or financially, it can be the most challenging. That’s where Caesars’ HEROES come into play– our employee-based community volunteers who have publicly and passionately been in full force this holiday season. Their dedication and efforts have lifted a great deal of spirits over these last few weeks, extending cheer throughout the Atlantic City area.

After month-long fundraising initiatives leading up to our annual Battle of the Bras Fashion Show that took place last month at Harrah’s Resort, Caesars Entertainment was able to donate $60,000 to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer South Jersey Chapter. But, our HEROES did not stop there. The team successfully orchestrated a seasonal toy drive with the help of Wild Wild West’s food & beverage team, Jameson and a match by Caesars. Over 1,750 gifts, 64 child-sized bicycles and a $15,000 donation to the Marine Corp’s Toys For Tots program was distributed to families wearing newfound smiles.

“The thought of innocent children not having toys on Christmas is what drove me to want to do more with the party,” said Jennifer Elberson, Bally’s Customer Development Executive who is responsible for a vast majority of the drive’s overall success. Elberson has hosted a desirably acclaimed Toys For Toys customer party for the last decade. “Together with my boss, co-workers, and our amazing customers, we have more and more toys to donate every year.”

Our HEROES continued to give back in their merriest ways. Through Second Wind Dreams’ Gift of Light initiative, over 135 elders residing in six local nursing homes from America’s Playground to Cape May were adopted, as were over 100 families through the Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program. This coming Friday, as we reach the home stretch to Christmas, these employee-volunteers will be back at it again to feed residents of Atlantic City’s Salvation Army who are in dire need of a warm, holiday meal.

“We call our employee-volunteers at Caesars Entertainment HEROES and they truly live up to this title each and every year,” Kevin Ortzman stated, Regional President for Caesars, Harrah’s and Bally’s Atlantic City. Ortzman went on to share that over 11,000 volunteer hours were logged last year as team members generously assisted organizations within the community, which amounts to over 270 full-time jobs.

“Caesars is proud to support many nonprofits throughout Atlantic County and have our team members lead the way through any boots-on-the-ground citizenship efforts, helping to make a difference in our own backyard.”
