If you’ve been around the area of Caesars Atlantic City beach lately, right next to The Pier Shops, you’ve probably noticed tons of sandcastles up in these parts.

World Championships of Sand Sculpting 1

The World Championships of Sand Sculpting started on June 13th and will conclude on Sunday, June 30th. This year’s competition features 27 sculptors from 13 nations and 1.2 million pounds of fine-grade sand. Cray.

One of the 27 sculptors is none other than our friend Matthew Deibert, sandcastle master at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. Matthew’s contribution to The World Championships this year is “Literacy Lives On”, a creation in memory of his sister Anne, an avid reader and former teacher and administrator for Atlantic City Public Schools, who just recently passed away from pancreatic cancer. Anne worked with the children of Atlantic City for 39 years and will always be remembered through the school district’s newly formed charity, Annie’s Books To Go.

World Championships Of Sand Sculpting 2

Be sure to check out Matthew’s touching creation among others any time from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday, June 30th at Caesars beach. It’s a sight to be seen in Atlantic City!
