The waiting and anticipation is over for all of you 1980’s loving freaks (and we mean freaks lovingly, of course). Rock Of Ages hits the big screen today. Led by super film veteran Tom Cruise, the star-studded cast sings and dances their way through their favorite nightclub, The Bourbon Room.

Rock Of Ages

To break it down for you, Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) leaves her small town life behind in Oklahoma and travels to the big, bad city of Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of becoming the ultimate singing sensation. Since American Idol didn’t exist in the ’80s, she’s forced to do this the old-fashioned way. Upon her arrival in Hollywood, her suitcase (containing her most prized possessions…records…duh) is stolen in front of the aforementioned Burbon Room. Lowly employee, Drew Boley (Diego Boneta) fails to catch the bad guy who ran off with poor Sherrie’s suitcase and instead, offers her a job at The Bourbon Room to help ease a bit of the pain.

Sherrie however, has no idea that The Bourbon Room is crumbling from unpaid back taxes. The owners of the joint, Dennis Dupree (Alec Baldwin) and Lonny Barnett (Russell Brandt) convince popular hair/hip swinging rockstar Stacee Jaxx (Cruise) to perform at the club as a thank you for helping jump start his career in the hopes of making enough money to pay back those pesky taxes.

Take a look at the clip below from Warner Brothers.
