We’ve been anxiously trying to get into the holiday spirit here at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City (see yesterday’s post), so we decided to drop by yesterday and catch the Wednesday matinee of the Legends In Concert holiday cast at Bally’s Atlantic City.

We have to admit, we thought this cast was only labeled as a holiday cast because of the dates of their run (11/23-12/31), but it really is a legit holiday show and it made us excited! Holiday ditties were sung all around…and the stage decor was all festive.

Carrie Underwood 1

See? Oh yeah, that in the center of the photo is America’s sweetheart, Carrie Underwood. Duh. She was first on the bill. Girlfriend’s tone was amazing and stylistically so similar to the real one. No fancy bells or whistles here. We liked it. We liked that we could sing along to “Jesus Take The Wheel” and “Before He Cheats” just the way Carrie Underwood laid it out on the records. And we didn’t have to try to follow any crazy improvisations going on.

Carrie Underwood 2

Carrie’s Christmas pick was “Do You Hear What I Hear”, an upbeat version with of course…a country twang! Yeehaw, Merry Christmas!

Babs was up next. Ya know, Barbra Streisand. Just take a minute and look at the resemblance, people!

Barbra Streisand 1

Nose and everything! And that pencil straight hair! We’ve never met a straightening iron that could work that way. Totally jelly. Anyway, the voice was right on too. That sound she makes in the back of her throat when she projects her voice? Check. (While making every other word sound so lovely and elegant). And the New York accent was incredible too.

Barbra Streisand 2

Babs decided to jolt off into a impromptu version of “one of her” holiday songs, “Chanukah O Chanukah” and then remarked “Who would have thought that my Christmas album would have been one of my best sellers?”. So then, “Jingle Bells” it was, followed by a very classy performance of “Somewhere”. Funny to classic. Gotta love it.

And then we started teenying (definition: the ways of a teeny bopper) in our seats a bit. Because Michael Jackson literally jumped out onto the stage in front of us. In his usual black jacket and pants, and white v-neck t-shirts and socks. He totally wanted to be startin’ somethin’. And he did. There was moon walking and hand wagging right out of the gate, people!

Michael Jackson 1

MJ spread the holiday cheer with nothing other than “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” a la Jackson 5…except in the grown up Michael voice of course. Then there was also some Beating It….in THE red jacket. And….THE THRILLER DANCE, ya’ll! Complete with creepy creature costumes.

Michael Jackson 2

Just more proof that The King Of Pop will live forever. We love you, MJ. We love you.

Marilyn Monroe whooshed in next, all bedazzled out in long, flowing diamonds. Naturally, this was the perfect time to give us a little “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend”. Let us tell you, that breathy, sexy voice was like candy to our ears.

Marilyn Monroe 1

She even ventured out into the audience at one point after a giggly version of “Santa Baby” to flirt with the gents.

Marilyn Monroe 2

And she picked her favorite (Dave) to bring back up on stage with her to play “Happy Chair” where Marilyn decided to pretty much dishevel all articles of Dave’s clothing after pulling out amazing one-liners telling him “you just relax in your boat shoes” and “you’ve been wearing a new pullover shirt you got on sale for $12.99”. LOLz. Marilyn was HILARIOUS! She ended her set with a little “My Heart Belongs To Daddy” and red kisses all over Dave’s face! Perfect!

And then there was one. Elvis, to close the show. We have had a lot of different Elvis’ grace the Legends Theater at Bally’s. As Elvis had many forms. And this one is a cute, youngish one.

Elvis Presley 1

And his standard white suit was totally on the money. As was his hair swoop and awesome side burns.

He did a little “Burning Love” and his lyrics were crystal clear. He didn’t have to try too hard. It comes natural for him, and he’s good.

In true Elvis style, he tried to get alllll the girls in that room. Especially during his classic “Blue Christmas” where he donned one lucky woman with a kiss followed by gently wrapping a red scarf around her neck…and then did the same to another lady…with a white scarf. And of course there were lots of slow movements combined with hip bumping and such. And then he ended with “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. You know how it is.

Elvis Presely 2

There were two special holiday songs to close the show. We’re not going to give them away because we think you should see it instead! The holiday lineup of Legends In Concert will run until New Years Eve, December 31st. Be sure to head over to Bally’s Atlantic City soon for some holiday cheer!
