Between Pancake Month and Gordon Ramsay’s sticky toffee pudding, our blog has been covered in sweetness lately and this is no exception because the lovely lyrics and soothing vocals of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds are undeniably sweet.
Babyface is coming to the Circus Maximus Theater at Caesars Atlantic City on Feb. 10, and there really is no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by spending the evening with your special someone, listening to one of the smoothest R&B singers ever.
Since love is in the air, we decided that was the perfect time to highlight a man who is so romantic that his first album was literally called “Lovers.” So here is our official ranking of the Top Five most romantic Babyface songs:
There aren’t many people on Earth who can write a love song quite like Babyface, and “Exceptional” is one of his finest. It just makes you want to hold someone that you care about and let them know how exceptional their love is!
4. “Soon As I Get Home”
In “Soon As I Get Home,” Babyface lets you know all of the things he would do for you. From buying clothes to cooking dinner, he aims to set the example of how someone should treat the one they love.
3. “When Can I See You”
Whether it is from distance or disagreement, being away from someone that you care about can be painful. You want to reach out. You want to make everything okay again. Babyface lays it all out in “When Can I See You.”
2. “Whip Appeal”
This song is super steamy! In “Whip Appeal,” Babyface sings about a what it’s like to be in a relationship where you don’t do a whole lot of talking, and why that’s not necessarily such a bad thing…
1. “Every Time I Close My Eyes”
“Every time I close my eyes, I thank the Lord I’ve got you, and you’ve got me too.” What more can you possibly say? In every line of this song, Babyface finds a new way to make it known that he is thankful to have this love in his life, and anyone who is truly in love can relate to that feeling.
It was pretty much impossible to narrow this list down to just five considering the amazing success that Babyface has had as a solo artist. That’s not even including anything that he wrote for Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton or any of the countless other superstars he collaborated with.
Get your Valentine’s Day celebrations started a little early this year with a night of love and romance from the exceptional Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds on Feb. 10 in the Circus Maximus Theater at Caesars. For tickets, click here!
