This blog loves collecting it some casino loyalty club cards, and there’s a new one on the way in honor of the Lunar New Year which begins Jan. 23, 2012.

Total Rewards, the loyalty program of Caesars Entertainment, will soon offer players a commemorative player’s card, and we’ve got a first look.

Year of the Dragon

Yes, Josh Smith is Asian. By marriage. Get past it.

The Lunar New Year has been celebrated for more than 5,000 years, and is the most important holiday for many Asians around the world. Players from Asia are some of Las Vegas’ most, um, woo-worthy, so you’re probably starting to see the big picture here.

The Lunar New Year celebrates new beginnings, fortune and reunion. Although, in Sin City, that “fortune” part is probably the most relevant. It’s said the dragon is the most powerful sign in the Asian Zodiac, and represents might, vitality, power and wealth.

Las Vegas will offer an array of Lunar New Year events throughout January, 2012, including lion dances, special events and concerts. The new Total Rewards card will make its way to Vegas casinos, and Total Rewards casinos across the country, in January. Get yours while they last.

Learn more about Total Rewards, and you can even sign up online, if you’re into that kind of thing.
