The final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event Championship is under way at Rio Las Vegas.

The “November Nine” (the nine players who emerged victorious out of the field of 7,319 entrants back in July) have been going at it since Saturday, Nov. 6, and the action has been fast-and-furious. Once the nine finalists are whittled down to two, heads-up play will resume Nov. 8 at 8:00 p.m. and the two will battle it out until a 2010 champ is crowned.

WSOP November Nine

The WSOP November Nine. At least we think there are nine. We are a Las Vegas blog, not a poker player counter.

The winner will take home more than $8.9 million in prize money. That’s a lot of hoodies and sunglasses.

To see who’s in and who’s out, visit the official WSOP site. For up-to-the-minute updates, follow the WSOP on Twitter, or “Like” its fan page on Facebook.

Check out all the latest November Nine news and photos on the official World Series of Poker blog. We tend to be partial to blogs.

Update: The final two players have been determined! (Yes, we stayed up until 1:22 a.m. so you wouldn’t have to.) The homestretch showdown battle royale, because you can never have too many mixed metaphors, will feature Jonathan Duhamel versus John Racener. Get the details.
