Sprinkles takes the cake
Coveted around the world, Sprinkles Cupcakes have long hit the sweet spot when it comes to dessert done right. The brand with the golden touch not only started the trendy cupcake craze from its tiny Beverly Hills shop, but it has maintained its perch as Queen Bee of the cupcake world ever. Lines in some of its California locations still stretch around the corner for nearly hour long waits—9 years later! (Yes, they’re that good.)
As one of many swanky new hot spots at The LINQ district, Nevada gets its very first Sprinkles Cupcakes outpost on March 21. Located in the Central Plaza area by the bubbling fountains, it will feature not only the legendary cupcakes, but its Sprinkles ice cream, cookies and quick-serve Cupcake ATM.
When basketball, green beer and leprechauns collide
March is always a maddening mix of basketball fanaticism and St. Patrick’s Day revelry. Splurge on game day viewing party packages March 20-23, and build up to it with the kitschy shenanigans O’Sheas has planned for its Block Party. Expect all-day drink specials, a beer pong challenge with Lucky the Leprechaun, an adult balloon artist, DJs and live bands.
The show(girl)stopping return of “Jubilee”
On the heels of its modernizing makeover, “Jubilee” (sans exclamation point this time around) reopens on March 17 after a two-month hiatus. Being that the revamp is helmed by none other than Beyoncé’s creative director, Frank Gatson Jr., you know this fine, feathered show is going on the “fabulist.”
Look at Keith Urban benefit charity at the same time
Vegas goes country every April when the onslaught of Academy of Country Music Awards festivities take over town for nearly a week. Its charitable Party For A Cause Festival is set for The LINQ, taking over two stages for 12 hours of nonstop music and food on April 4-5. Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban headline, joined by the newly announced Florida George Line, plus Justin Moore, Chris Young, Lee Brice and Kip Moore. The night is presented by ACM Lifting Lives, benefiting several charities. Plenty of fun bars are now open at The LINQ, including BLVD Cocktail Co., Brooklyn Bowl and Yard House, so the party really won’t stop even after show encore. Yeehaw!
When in doubt, go green some more…
If more in the mood to party-hop for St Patrick’s Day festivities, there are special offerings and pricing happening all over the Strip. Putting the “rock” in shamrock, celebrate all weekend long with the patio party at Miracle Mile Shops‘ Cabo Wabo Cantina. Count on discounted green margaritas, green beer and tubs of brews.
On March 17, Trevi Italian inside The Forum Shops will serve the fettuccine al pesto con gamberi—pasta tossed with sautéed shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and basil in a green pesto cream sauce. Pair it with the day’s other two specials: pistachio gelato and the ‘Kiss Me, I’m Italian’ sour apple cocktail.
We’re also partial to the “Pot of Gold” pineapple mojito cocktail at Carmine’s NYC Italian in The Forum Shops, simply because it’s pretty and looks like it will bring us luck.
