Pete “Big Elvis” Vallee, one of the most acclaimed Elvis impersonators in Las Vegas, celebrated three things on Feb. 28, 2012: 1) his birthday, 2) a decade of performing at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Casino (formerly the Barbary Coast), and 3) a proclamation from the Mayor of Las Vegas officially naming Feb. 28 Pete “Big Elvis” Vallee Day.

Hey, when you’re Big Elvis, you have to celebrate your birthday in a big way!

Big Elvis getting his own day is a pretty big deal.

Fans packed into Bill’s to honor Pete Vallee, and the larger-than-life performer didn’t disappoint, following up a proclamation presentation from Caesars Entertainment Regional President Rick Mazer (below, left) by belting out some of The King’s tried-and-true classics.

When it rains, it pours, even in the desert.

The proclamation, issued by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, acknowledged “Pete as one of the Top 10 Elvis Impersonators of all time by Time magazine (2010)” as well as his other sizable accomplishments.
