The members of Human Nature, the soulful headliners at Imperial Palace, did a great interview on radio station KNPR recently, and we just had to share. Listen here.

Human Nature

Human Nature's (clockwise from top left) Andrew Tierney, Toby Allen, Michael Tierney and Phil Burton.

During the radio interview, we learn a lot about this harmonizing foursome from Australia. One surprise came in the discussion about a classic photo of the guys, one which appears to depict “Bizzaro Human Nature.”

Human Nature

Same Human Nature, different mojo.

Nope, it’s real, and the guys seem to take it all in stride. The photo harkens back to when the group was looking for its “voice,” in any number of senses of the word.

While their current show features the sounds of Motown, a former incarnation of the group was a full-on pop boy band, complete with a dance hit, “He Don’t Love You.”

We need a new way to say “awesome.”

Anyway, make sure you listen to the full KNPR interview, and we double dare you to not get chills when Human Nature breaks into song, a cappella.

Read more about the long and winding history of Human Nature, and catch these versatile performers at Imperial Palace. Their first U.S. tour begins in March, and will cover 35 cities, starting in, you guessed it, the birthplace of Motown (Detroit).
