Happily, musical great Peter Gabriel will stop at Planet Hollywood during his North American tour on Oct. 5, 2012.

Gabriel’s tour is in honor of the 25th anniversary of his smash album from 1986, “So.” How you get “25th anniversary” from adding 1986 to 25 (isn’t that 2011?), we do not know. We are a Las Vegas blog, not a music historian.

At any rate, this is entirely awesome news. When “So” was released, this blog listened to the album so much, the needle broke on our CD player. (This is not the time to get bogged down by technical details.)

Peter Gabriel

Of course, you knew Peter Gabriel was also the founder of Genesis, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

“So” featured hits like “Red Rain,” “Sledgehammer,” “Don’t Give Up,” “Big Time” and “In Your Eyes,” a song we would have loved even if it hadn’t been the one playing on John Cusack’s radio in “Say Anything.”

Gabriel’s “Back to Front” tour will feature members of the original “So” touring band performing all the songs from “So.” Hence the “Back to Front” tour name. It’s all the songs on the album, back to front. Please try and keep up.

Peter Gabriel trivia: “Sledgehammer” is the most-played video of all time MTV. Yes, MTV used to have music videos.

Find out more and get your tickets now, because they’re “So” going to be gone quickly. Yeah, we said it.
