When this Las Vegas blog says there’s something for everyone in Sin City, we’re not kidding.

Las Vegas is home to the little-known (at least outside Vegas) Clark County Shooting Range, a massive complex with a rifle-pistol center, archery center and trap-and-skeet shotgun center. Learn more.

Formerly called a "Park," now it's a "Range." Go with it.

While indoor shooting ranges are fairly common across the country, the Clark County Shooting Range is anything but common. The range covers a mind-numbing 2,900 acres (900 acres developed, with the rest as a buffer).

The Clark County Shooting Range is located just north of the City of Las Vegas boundary, about 30 minutes from the heart of the Strip.

This piece of paper never stood a chance against this blog's stellar markmanship.

The Clark County Shooting Range recently announced “Women of High Caliber,” a “ladies shooting group intended to provide a safe atmosphere for women to learn about or improve shooting firearms.”

Women of High Caliber will meet on the last Thursday of each month, beginning Sep. 29, 2011 (6:00 p.m.). Upcoming events include a (concealed weapon) purse/fanny pack party (Jan. 26), a bowling pin target shoot (Feb. 23), a Bingo night (participants shoot at numbered targets to get a Bingo, Apr. 26) and a poker night (Jun. 28). See? Casino tie-in! Same concept as Bingo, but you shoot at cards to get the best poker hand.

One of our favorite things at the Clark County Shooting Range is this clever casing picker-upper thingy.

Events for the new women’s shooting group will include door prizes, featuring concealed weapon fanny packs and pink ear muffs. Again, not made up. Get more details on the official site.

Yes, there's some paperwork. You'll manage.

Believe it or not, Nevada’s gun-friendly history and fairly liberal gun laws are a big draw for many Vegas visitors who enjoy recreational shooting. The Gun Store on Tropicana, for example, has been using its catchy, “Fire a real machine gun!” advertising strategy for years. It gets even better: The store recently started offering a zombie package.

See? Zombies must be real. Told you so.

Another popular indoor range, closer to the Strip, is American Shooters.

If you’re into this stuff, you just got a magazine full of new Things to Do in Las Vegas. You’re welcome, as always. Got questions you’d like to post in the Comments section? Shoot.
