Britney Spears Announces New Show Dates, Arrives in Vegas With Grand Entrance
It’s officially Britney Spears month! The world’s biggest pop star (and “Vegas Player” cover girl) finally arrived in Las Vegas yesterday—on the day her eighth studio album released, no less—to begin rehearsals for her landmark two-year residency, “Britney: Piece of Me” at Planet Hollywood Resort. The splashy appearance coincided with the announcement of new show dates and VIP packages due to overwhelming demand to see the legendary diva in action when she returns to the stage Dec. 27.
Tickets for the first run are already on sale with many sold-out dates, but given their record-setting numbers, tickets for her newly added shows are launching earlier than planned.
April: Friday, April 25; Saturday, April 26; Wednesday, April 30
May: Friday, May 2; Saturday, May 3; Wednesday, May 7; Friday, May 9; Saturday, May 10; Wednesday, May 14; Friday, May 16; Saturday, May 17

Spears fans have a few chances for exclusive ticket offers before they go on sale to the general public this Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. American Express cardholder presale began today at 10 a.m. through Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. and Total Rewards members have Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. through Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. to purchase tickets. But the show’s real hot tickets are the limited number VIP meet-and-greet packages that include everything from backstage access and photo with Spears to front row seating and bottle service, autographed posters, personal escorts, and special dedicated lines.
In an elaborate, traffic-stopping appearance in front of Planet Hollywood Tuesday afternoon, Spears was officially welcomed by a mass of cheering fans, friends and executives. Aerialists and costumed dancers performed to some of her most famous hits, and the crowd reach a fever pitch as Spears’ eight-car motorcade drew closer to the red carpet. After she was presented with a bouquet of pink roses, Queen B addressed her loyal followers: “What’s up Vegas? This is my city now.”
Spears was of course not only celebrating her long-awaited Vegas arrival, but the release of what she calls her most personal album yet, “Britney Jean,” which includes fresh new (and undeniably catchy) electro-pop material and her new singles, “Work Bitch” and “Perfume.” A few of the songs will be woven into “Britney: Piece of Me,” but the “party vibe” show will largely focus on her greatest hits (think “Baby One More Time” and “Toxic”), performed in a grand theater-meets-nightclub environment—the only one of its kind in Las Vegas.
Spears recently appeared on “Ellen” to showcase the first rendering of her stage set while talking about “Britney: Piece of Me.”
