Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas rocks Sin City with The Roots and Elvis Costello
Concerts and bowling – who would have ever thought the two would go together?
Brooklyn Bowl did. And it worked.
This past weekend, the 80,000-square-foot Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ opened with a bang as The Roots and Elvis Costello rocked the stage with tons of energy and excitement. This blogger got to see The Roots’ sold-out performance last Friday and enjoyed a two-hour set of bass-heavy, hip-hop jazzy, all-around goodness. Stand-out performances that night included “You Got Me,” “What They Do” and “The Seed (2.0).” The live band solos were also amazing.
Rock crooner Elvis Costello graced the stage with the longtime hip-hop jazz band both Saturday and Sunday. The talented musicians performed tracks from their 2013 album, “Wise Up Ghost.” This is their first time performing the album live outside of Brooklyn Bowl in New York. Costello also performed his greatest hits including “(I Don’t Want To Go To) Chelsea” and “I Want You.” Each show ended with The Roots and Costello’s funk-rock hit, “Pump It Up.”
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is changing the game with Las Vegas shows and concerts. Not only can you come with your friends to bowl at one of the 32 lanes, these areas also have gigantic screens of the live performances. You’ll never miss a beat.
Plus, the tasty dishes of Blue Ribbon Restaurant aren’t too shabby, either. In fact, Food Network featured its beloved fried chicken on the show, “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” Last but certainly not least, the two outdoor patios (one on the second floor, the other on the third) is a great way to get some fresh air after all that dancing and drinking. And speaking of drinking, there’s a nearby bar at just about every corner. Could this place be any more perfect?
The original Brooklyn Bowl location opened in 2009, with its second location in London this past January. But since Vegas is already deemed as the entertainment capital of the world, we believe our location is about to turn the party up.
Coming to Sin City? Check out the upcoming acts at this hot Las Vegas venue. Bonobo and Disclosure, anyone?
