Economists like to say “There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.” And that holds true – you’ll definitely get a bill for that room service you ordered in your bathrobe.

But there are still some great freebies in this world, so at least you can catch a free show in Las Vegas. There are some free lounge acts in Las Vegas if you ever take a trip down to the Strip. Here are the best spots to catch some free live tunes.

Extreme Live Show at The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The newcomer on the block, The LINQ Hotel + Experience’s Extreme Live Show brings a double shot of excitement to the resort’s already energetic pace. Playing daily from 7 – 11 p.m., the Extreme Live Show features a band playing some of your favorite party anthems from over the decades, with the classic music video projected behind them.

The Extreme Live Show isn’t extreme in the sense that you’ll be yelling “SLAYER!!!” at the top of your lungs, but in that the band isn’t afraid to hop off-stage, mingle and party with the audience. So best to bring your dancing A-game, because you may become part of the entertainment for everyone else.

Piano Bar at Harrah’s Las Vegas

A fun Harrah’s Las Vegas staple for many years, Piano Bar is home to many kinds of free lounge entertainment options fit for all tastes:

  • Dueling Pianos: Twins Kim and Tamara Pinegar bring a whole new meaning to sibling rivalry with their nightly dueling piano show starting at 9 p.m.
  • Big Elvis: Pete Vallee’s fantastic impersonator show covers all of the King’s greatest hits, with performances Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 – 6 p.m.
  • DJ Rusty’s Karaoke: So far, this list has left the entertaining to the pros, but you can catch audience members singing their favorite jams Wednesday to Sunday from 6 – 9 p.m. Galileo Galileo!
  • Saxman Duo: To adapt a completely unrelated saying:Sax is like pizza: Even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.” Well, Saxman Duo is really good, covering hits from over the decades with funky, dancy sound. Check them out Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 – 6 p.m.

Interlude at The Cromwell

Found in the heart of The Cromwell, Interlude is a fresh cocktail lounge with free live music on Wednesday evenings. Enjoy performers in this lively backdrop that’s just subdued enough to let you enjoy a conversation with friends.

Drinking’s just more fun at Carnaval Court in Las Vegas

Carnaval Court at Harrah’s Las Vegas

Take the party outside at Carnaval Court, just steps away from Piano Bar. As flair bartenders whip up some epic drinks, you can catch live bands and DJs playing your favorite tunes. There’s a great street party vibe here – and it’s going from noon to 3 a.m., so you can dance your butt off from day to night.

Brooklyn Bowl’s Free Dance Parties and Shows

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is one of the city’s favorite concert venues, hosting critically-acclaimed and up-and-coming acts alike. It’s also home to its fair share of free entertainment.

Any time you’re in Vegas, you’ll want to check Brooklyn Bowl’s calendar for its free dance parties and concerts. From tribute bands to local acts and DJs, these are sometimes scheduled at the last minute, so you never know what you’re going to get!

EXTRA Lounge at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

We know “Extra” has taken on a different meaning among the youth these days, but Extra Lounge is a prime spot to post up at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino after grabbing a bite at Gordon Ramsay Burger or Café Hollywood, while rocking out to bands playing Top 40 tunes in the evening.

Napoleon’s Lounge at Paris Las Vegas

Napoleon himself might be associated with Waterloo, but don’t necessarily expect ABBA covers unless you put in a request here at Napoleon Lounge. From 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. nightly, this piano lounge features dueling pianists competing for your admiration. Sing along and dance along to current hits and classics alike.

  1. Regarding free Las Vegas Lounge acts, you didn’t mention Cook E. Jarr at The Piano Bar at Harrahs. Is he no longer there?
What about the bar at Paris? Last time I was there – 2 years ago – they had free live acts.

  2. Kristine McKenzie

Hi Debbie – Cook E. Jarr is not currently scheduled at the Piano Bar. Yes, you can still see free live entertainment in the Cabaret Bar at Paris.
