Star light, star bright, the first star we’ll see tonight is… J.Lo.

Things get a lot brighter on the Las Vegas Strip on May 24 when Jennifer Lopez’s Las Vegas show returns to The AXIS inside Planet Hollywood. And we’re not just talking about all the bling on the stage.

Jennifer Lopez returns to the Las Vegas Stage this summer

Celebrity guests, crystal-bedecked costumes and dazzling dance moves create a stellar night as bright as the night sky. With all the bling in the show — 260,000 Swarovski crystals to be exact — its easy to be star-struck, but our fave J.Lo starring moment is when she fulfilled the dream of a little star through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

So check out these shining moments and then be dazzled in person at her flashy and fabulous show, “JENNIFER LOPEZ: ALL I HAVE,” May 24 – June 11.

Shining Star

Jennifer Lopez's costume details include Swarovski crystals

J.Lo takes bling to a whole new level. She’s giving the stars in our galaxy a run for their money. From her hot pink streetwear pants and matching New York Yankees hat to bedazzled bodysuits, the crystals add character to each costume she dons on stage.

“Adding Swarovski crystals to the [Donnatella] Versace garments gave us the greatest impact,” her stylist Rob Zangardi told Vogue. “Jen glows on stage, yet her clothes are still fluid.”

In addition to Donnatella Versace, other designers who incorporated crystals in J.Lo’s outfits include Zuhair Murad and Nicolas Jebran.

Her sparkling stage props have their own bling going on too. These numbers are astounding:

  • 260,000: Number of Swarovski crystals in total J.Lo wears in her costumes.
  • 1,400: Number of hours Donnatella Versace’s team spent hand-placing J.Lo’s crystals on her costumes
  • 75,000: Number of crystals incorporated into the set design
  • 700: Number of crystal strands on J.Lo’s chandeliers on stage
  • 38,000: Number of crystals on J.Lo’s 20-by-15-foot grand staircase
  • 330,000: Total number of crystals seen on stage

Admire all the shimmering, glimmering designs in person at J.Lo’s show in Las Vegas.

Hollywood Stargazing

J.Lo is a Hollywood star herself, so it only makes sense she’d surprise her fans with another star or two. During her show’s opening, she had guest appearances from other big name talent like Pitbull, Ja Rule and Ne-Yo.

She’s also had a ton of celebrity guests in the audience in the past year. Show guests on her opening night included Leah Remini, rapper T.I. and pop sensation Justin Bieber, among others. Since then, several stars have watched J.Lo take the stage: Kerry Washington, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Kim Kardashian West, French Montana, Nicole Kidman, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Drew Barrymore, Marc Antony, Kevin Hart, Drake… the list goes on.

Next time you’re in the audience, keep on the lookout for some serious star gazing.

Make-A-Wish on a Star

Finally, we come to the littlest star of all: Last December, Make-A-Wish Foundation chose a 6-year-old girl, a dashing little starlet, to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: Receive all-star treatment in Vegas and meet her idol, J.Lo.

Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that works to grant the wish of children (“Wish Kid”) who have life-threatening medical conditions. According to the Make-a-Wish website, the goals is to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

One thing that brought this Wish Kid joy was listening to J.Lo’s music. The organization flew the 6-year-old Wish Kid and her family to Las Vegas. Select Caesars Entertainment employees volunteered and greeted the child with sparkly “Welcome!” signs at the airport. The Make-A-Wish star was then whisked off in a limo to Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

The little star watched J.Lo in concert and had her own personal meet-and-greet. How cool is that?

Make-A-Wish foundation has its celebrity supporter organization called Look to the Stars. In addition to J.Lo, other celebrities include Sir Elton John, George Clooney, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez, to name a few.

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love discovering all of the city's vegan options, relaxing in hotel rooms and seeing the best concerts - no matter how big or small the crowd may be. Since I've ditched the rain in Seattle two decades ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas entertainment articles for Vegas.com, the LA Times and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me spending time with my husband, toddler and two pets.
