Though Britney Spears is keeping many of the surprises for her Planet Hollywood engagement, “Britney: Piece of Me,” under wraps for now, she spilled a few secrets to her pal Ryan Seacrest on Friday during a radio interview with 102.7 Kiss FM’s “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” He first congratulated Spears on the instant success of her new single, “Work Bitch” which shot to No. 1 in more than 35 countries in just days, before digging for dirt on her Vegas stint, which begins Dec. 27.
“Every time I do a show, I like to really bring it,” she said. “I love to really put on a show, so we’re going to really have all the works. There’s going to be snow, water, rain, everything, so I’m just really excited.”
When Seacrest inquired if she would live in Vegas during her two-year run, which is signed at 50 shows per year, she confirmed “probably two weeks out of each month.” Expect lights, camera, glamour as Spears travels back and forth between Vegas and LA for show preparation, including rehearsals. Spears also dished on the inspiration behind her eighth album, set to release Dec. 3.
“It’s one of the most personal albums I’ve ever done. From having a huge breakup this year, I just had a lot to say in the studio so it was really nice to be able to have it as therapy like that and be able to share that with my fans. The stuff that really comes from the heart is usually the best stuff and has the best beat, and it kind of helps you get over the breakup really easy because you sing about it and you have to think about it every night, but then you’re like ‘it’s ok, I’m performing now,’ so it’s totally fine, you just get over it. It’s like a therapeutic way to get over things.” Looks like Spears got in the zone all right.
