Las Vegas is a town full of everything from large arenas to intimate lounge shows. While some seek the spectacle of massive production shows, others long for the intimacy offered in the smaller and mid-size venues, which present an up-close-and-personal chance to truly see the performers. Several even give you the opportunity to get in on the action and become a part of the show. Choose one of these intimate shows and you’ll take home unrivaled memories of your Vegas entertainment experience.

“World of Wonder,” aka WOW, literally wows the crowd at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino with up-close-and-personal views of impressive performers like a roller skating act that defies the laws of physics, amazing aerialists and an archer from “America’s Got Talent” you just have to see to believe. The magic unfolds on stage in a 180-degree setting, meaning the theater practically becomes its own character. With 3D multi-media projections, water walls, crowd participation and holograms, you’ll feel fully immersed in this show from start to finish. If you want the full experience, book splash zone tickets in the front row.

What’s better than an up-close view of a Las Vegas headliner? An up-close view of his adorable furry companion of course! Sorry, Piff, we all know the real star of “Piff the Magic Dragon” at Flamingo Las Vegas is the World’s First Magic Performing Chihuahua™, Mr. Piffles. The canine star is featured in the show and hangs out after, happily letting eager fans shake his paw and give his little head a pet. Piff performs at the intimate Bugsy’s Cabaret at Flamingo Las Vegas, making it the perfect venue for a magic show. Though you can get a great view of the stage from anywhere in the theater, we bet you still won’t know how Piff and Mr. Piffles pull off their magic tricks.

Rock out at Bally’s

“X Rocks” takes place in The Back Room at Bally’s Las Vegas, a venue that literally sounds like a secret members-only club. The real secret is, this intimate theater is only five rows deep so every seat in the house feels like VIP. It makes the perfect place to see beautiful dancers bring your favorite rock tunes to life. You’ll feel like you’re on the set of your very own ’80s rock music video shoot. Look forward to hits from Whitesnake, Metallica, Aerosmith and Steve Miller Band plus more modern rock like Awolnation. You never know who will dance up right beside you in this sexy striptease.

BE A VIP AT the Zappos Theater

The Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino features one of the largest indoor video and projection installations in the world. Even if you don’t have front row seats, the immersive, wrap-around screens project the energy throughout the venue. When you’re booking tickets to see headliners like Backstreet Boys, J Lo and Pitbull, opt for the Front and Center VIP Table Package, which includes the best seats in the house, dedicated beverage service throughout the performance, a complimentary bottle of Moet & Chandon Imperial for the table, access to the dedicated VIP Check-In and direct phone line for any night-of-show questions, a commemorative VIP laminate plus a personal escort into the venue using a dedicated VIP entrance to bypass the often lengthy general public line.

Pick the Front Row Gold Circle Package at Lionel Richie’s show to score a special edition Lionel Richie poster plus access to the dedicated VIP Check-In and direct phone line, personal escort and dedicated VIP entrance to go along with the commemorative VIP laminate. With these sweet seats, you’ll feel like the performers are singing just to your crew.

Get up close and personal with Wayne Newton at Bally's Las Vegas

Las Vegas icon Wayne Newton has a show at Bally’s Las Vegas that’s literally called “Wayne Newton: Up Close & Personal.” The show delivers on that name, offering a chance to hear the performer’s stories and songs in an intimate theater. The “Danke Schoen” singer peppers personal stories throughout his performance, giving it the feel of a one-on-one chat with an old friend. After the show, Newton poses for pictures with fans who often share their own stories of seeing Newton at other times during his storied career. “Viva Las Vegas” indeed!

Meet Penn & Teller for a meet and great after their Las Vegas show at the Rio

Meet the minds behind the magic

Magicians Penn & Teller manage to pull off some pretty astounding illusions during their show at Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino but perhaps their coolest act takes place after the show. The magical duo offers a free meet-and-greet following every show and they take the time to say hello and take pictures with anybody who wants to meet them. During the show, guests in all parts of the theater can get a good look at the close-up magic segments via screens. It also doesn’t hurt that magician Penn Jillette at 6’6’’ is hard to miss.

Enjoy the action from all sides at Absinthe. Photo by Erik Kabik.

The irreverent and impressively acrobatic romp, “Absinthe,” takes place in a theater-in-the-round style of tent, which hearkens back to the old days of a traveling circus and ensures you can see the action from all angles. The tent, outside of Caesars Palace, isn’t very deep so even the back row has a great view of the performers, some of whom you’ll see overhead. When we say the show occupies all portions of the tent, we’re not kidding. Performers may just show up in the seat next to you… or they may even get extra cozy with you in your own seat.

The show name “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man” kind of says it all. It’s pretty clear from the title that the subject matter of this show will definitely take you up-close and super personal. This Paris Las Vegas show is a highly interactive one, involving lots of audience participation. Guests will be part of the, ahem, how do you say… demonstrations? In addition to becoming a part of the show, which was a big hit on Broadway, guests can opt for the meet-and-greet with the stars. Beginning Jan. 4, 2018, reality show darling Scheana Shay of “Vanderpump Rules” and MTV star and recording artist Chester Lockhart will take over the starring roles in the production. Choose the meet-and-greet package and you’ll score a photo with the stars and have an opportunity to chat with them. It could be your chance to ask them about their own “tips.”

Las Vegas lounge entertainment is part of what makes this city so magical. You can grab a drink and listen to some of the most fun entertainers, without even going to a showroom. The seats are never very far from the stage so the view and sound are great.

Paris Las Vegas is also home to Le Cabaret Bar, where you’ll feel like you’re at an intimate Parisian bistro, only with live music and DJ tunes in the middle of a casino floor. Grab a table by the stage or dance floor and you’ll feel like a VIP with the best seats in the house. The garden-like setting with trees draped in lights plays off the high-energy excitement of the music for a memorable evening.
