In that spirit, here we present a virtual truckload of news and information we simply don’t have time to form complete thoughts about.

* The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will turn its popular fountain red for the month of December in support of the Las Vegas-based HIV/AIDS charity, Golden Rainbow.

* Ethel M Chocolates hosts an eye-popping holiday cactus lighting, an annual spectacle, at its Botanical Cactus Garden on Nov. 16. The garden has 300 varieties of cacti adorned with half-a-million lights. Find out more on their Facebook page.

* The Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority pointed us toward this great list of “off-Strip” things to do.

* We enjoyed this sweet write-up about the Las Vegas-inspired video game sensation, “Fallout: New Vegas,” in Vegas Seven Magazine.

* O’Sheas magician Dirk Arthur was featured in a great interview on NPR recently. Yes, this blog listens to NPR, and we resent the implication of your question.

* Now, two words we never expected to see in close proximity: Fried pickles. That’s how they roll at PBR Rockbar at Planet Hollywood. See them here.

* Two words we always hoped we’d see in close proximity: Lingerie football. Cabo Wabo Cantina has it in spades at Planet Hollywood. Take a look.

* The folks at Cirque du Soleil have announced some deep discounts on their shows for the winter season. The highly-touted “O” is 25% off, for example. The discounts are good through Feb. 28.

* Scallops have 60 eyes. What, everything has to be about Vegas?

* The Aria announced it will host the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament in March of 2011. Get details.

* Rumors abound when it comes to shows in Vegas, but this one’s especially juicy. Shania Twain at Caesars Palace? Kind of like when peanut butter met chocolate.

* Roger Clemens was spotted having dinner (Nov. 6) at Strip House inside Planet Hollywood. Pete Rose was seen there in October. We understand these are sports personalities. Hey, we’re a Las Vegas blog, not a repository of sports trivia.

* Chef Francois Payard, the mastermind behind the delights at Payard Patisserie & Bistro at Caesars Palace, is on Twitter. Follow him, if your thighs can handle it.

* Holly Madison update: The Peepshow and “Holly’s World” star recently made a hefty donation of blankets to The Animal Foundation. See more Holly.

* In other Holly Madison news, she’ll make a public appearance on Nov. 13 at a pet adoption day hosted by The Animal Foundation. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 200 microchips will be distributed free. Visit the organization’s Facebook page.

* A new show, “Liberace: Music & Memories” just opened at the Saxe Theater inside The Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood. Looks like free tickets are being made available, Nov. 14-18. Get tickets.

* How giddy does this blog get thinking about the possibility of a 24-hour gaming channel? Uh, very! Read all about it.

* Here’s a great story that asserts Hash House a Go Go, inside Imperial Palace, is the best place to eat in Vegas. A lot of die-hard fans agree.

* Actor Lou Gossett, in a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, said movie theaters in Las Vegas closed on the final night of the epic series “Roots” because “everybody stayed home.”

* This “The Next Iron Chef” judge has obviously been going to the wrong Las Vegas buffets. Paging, Dr. McSnobby.

* Harrah’s Entertainment has received a perfect rating for the fourth year from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index. Impressive.

* Congrats to songbird Celine Dion! She recently welcomed twin boys into her life. Celine returns to Caesars Palace on Mar. 15.
