What happens when a beloved movie musical like “Grease” gets the video slot machine treatment? People talk and this blog plays!

Groove, check. Feeling, check. Time, place, motion, check.

The buzz is building about the “Grease”-inspired slot machine being rolled out in select Sin City casinos, and the game’s been getting great reviews as far as we can tell. Especially from the woman we sat next to when we played at Caesars Palace. She was so excited when we got the “Too Pure to Be Pink” bonus, she provided a running commentary.

Caesars Palace is the first Vegas casino to have the “Grease” video slot machine, and it’s located near the casino’s Seahorse Lounge.

The “Grease” video slot may also be found at Rio Las Vegas and Harrah’s Las Vegas, at least according to the handy Slot Finder on the Caesars Entertainment site.

Progressive jackpot, please feel free to make your way to this blog's wallet, thanks.

The “Grease” video slot machine features all the bells and whistles you might expect, including a slew of bonus games, HD visuals, surround-sound speakers in the back of the player’s chair, a progressive jackpot and other features, all set against the music and clips from the timeless 1978 movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

All your favorite characters from the movie make an appearance in the game, including the aforementioned Pink Ladies and the T-Birds.

"T-Bird Mystery Wilds" could mean up to 10 extra wilds on any spin. We read that somewhere.

The game is made by Bally Technologies (unrelated to Bally’s Las Vegas, the hotel), and is a penny “double-play” slot machine, enabling players to indulge in two games at once. This blog loves winning in stereo.

We also love experiencing a flashback to all those great “Grease” songs and characters. Rydell High, Frenchy, the “greasers,” all that. And the “Grease” video slot machine gets points for eye-popping visuals, including about 40 video clips, on not one, but four, displays. At least one of the video screens is touch sensitive so the bonus rounds are truly interactive.

Grease

"You know how it is, rockin' and rollin' and what not."

Here’s some “Grease” video slot machine trivia: This is the first time actor John Travolta has approved the use of his image on a slot machine.

Super double bonus trivia: The theme song to “Grease” was performed by Frankie Valli of The Four Seasons. Vegas connection: The story of the Four Seasons is featured in Jersey Boys, the musical at Paris Las Vegas. Ah, the circularity of the universe. The song, by the way, was written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.

We predict this new-to-Vegas video slot machine will be a crowd-pleasing success. Especially if we keep hitting those bonuses. Because a slot machine bonus is like a “hickey from Kenickie.” Your results may vary.
