Vegas has been a very film-friendly location from the start. I mean – just look at it! It’s a feast for the eyes. It’s no wonder that TV shows and movies love to shoot here whether they’re setting the whole story here or having their characters take a little detour.

If you can’t make it to Vegas right now, we’ve put together this list of some of the best Vegas movies so you can get your fix, while getting your fix of laughs and thrills.

Some of our favorite Films Featuring Las Vegas

The Hangover Series (2009, 2011, 2013)

Two thirds (part I and III) of this hilarious trilogy are dedicated to Vegas, so of course we have to open with it. Starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong, this series shows a bachelor party spinning out of control and into hilarious consequences that take them around the world.

The Wolfpack’s shenanigans in Vegas have inspired countless visitors to ask that question when coming to Caesars Palace: “Did Caesar live here?”

Honeymoon in Vegas (1992)

This comedy starring Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker showcases that classic Vegas institution: The super quick marriage. Among other Vegas landmarks in the film, the couple checks in to Bally’s Las Vegas after their wedding.

Rain Man (1985)

This comedy-drama stars Tom Cruise as a savvy wheeler and dealer and Dustin Hoffman as a savant with outstanding mathematical ability. The two attempt to make it big at the blackjack tables in Las Vegas to repay Charlie’s (Cruise) debts. The Caesars Palace suite featured in this film is still bookable to this day – the Forum Tower Duplex Suite!

Vegas Vacation (1997)

Another showcase of Vegas landmarks, this hilarious installment in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series stars Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. We’re fond of the quick cameo by the original O’Sheas, where Rusty Griswold wins a car from a slot machine, much to the eventual delight of his family. The movie also features one of our favorite Caesars Palace headliners – Wayne Newton.

Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)

OK, not to be total downers putting in the post-apocalyptic action-horror movie, but this film starring Milla Jovovich features scenes filmed in a very, very different Vegas. There’s an appearance by Paris Las Vegas’ Eiffel Tower, where it provides a safe haven for one of the characters. In a way, you could say Paris Las Vegas was a hero of this story. In a way.

Iron Man (2008)

Wakanda… Sokovia… Vegas? The Marvel Studios media juggernaut had humble beginnings in this film starring Robert Downey, Jr. as the armored superhero.

And guess what: Las Vegas was there from the start. A part of the movie before Tony Stark becomes the titular hero takes place at Caesars Palace.
