Breaking news: Ireland just called. They’re calling off St. Patrick’s Day on the “Green Isle.” An Irish official stated, “Seriously. We can’t compete with Las Vegas on St. Patrick’s Day, and we even have a lot of Irish people.”

Hey, it could happen!

Vegas is always the place to be, but it’s especially true on St. Patrick’s Day.

The ultimate St. Paddy’s Day blow-out happens at O’Sheas and Flamingo (Mar. 17). The street between the two resorts becomes a monster block party, complete with more green than you’d see in a high-roller’s money clip.

Please don't overdo it on the beads. Hernias are not fun, trust us.

Kicking off the block party is an epic beer pong re-match between the O’Sheas mascot, Lucky, and Peepshow (the show at Planet Hollywood) star Holly Madison. Check out our barely-in-focus coverage of last year’s clash.

Holly Madison St. Patrick's Day

What? This is a legitimate Las Vegas news story.

Get all the details about one of Sin City’s best-lubricated bashes on the O’Sheas Facebook page.

Highlights of the O’Sheas block party: Holly and Lucky compete at noon. Live music and DJs through midnight. Tons of food and drink specials, including Corned Beef Kraut Sliders and Guinness Beef Sliders, whatever those might actually be.

Just about every bar in Vegas will be serving up specials for St. Patrick’s Day, but one of the hottest spots is sure to be P.J. Clarke’s at the The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. This relatively-new restaurant and bar is already receiving rave reviews, and not just because we have a photo we took of it handy.

P.J. Clarke's Las Vegas

P.J. Clarke's trivia: The final scene of "Annie Hall" was shot in the P.J. Clarke's location at Lincoln Square, New York.

P.J. Clarke’s, originally founded in 1884, is a saloon-style restaurant known for its cocktails, steaks, cocktails, seafood, cocktails, burgers and sandwiches. Oh, and cocktails. Read more.

Haute Living actually named P.J. Clarke’s one of Vegas’ top five gastropubs.

If you’re more of a downtown Vegas kind of reveler, you won’t want to miss the St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl at the Fremont Street Experience. The crawl will include some of this blog’s favorite downtown haunts, the Golden Gate, Fremont, Binion’s, Fitzgerald’s, Four Queens and Hennessey’s. “Crawl” is right! Find out more.

Fremont Street

Our photo of the Fremont Street Experience doesn't have much to do with St. Patrick's Day. We just like it.

The St. Paddy’s Day fun continues at the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood. On Mar. 17, Bikini Bay offers shoppers clad in green 10% off their entire purchase. Vegas Royalty gets in the spirit with 20%-off all full-priced merchandise. Blondies Sports Bar & Grill hosts a beer pong tournament at 10:00 p.m. PBR Rock Bar & Grill serves up green beer, $5 shots and two Budweiser aluminums for $8, all day. Halo Bar serves up a wide assortment of Irish beers and whiskey. Visit the official Miracle Mile Shops site for more details.

Here are more St. Patrick’s Day options from Vegas Seven magazine and Las Vegas Weekly. You know, where actual journalists work.
