Vegas Uncork’d 2010 is already starting to build buzz (no, not that kind). Fifty of the world’s greatest chefs will convene in Sin City for a slew of wine and food events spanning four days, May 6-9, Mother’s Day weekend.

The event highlights Las Vegas’ standing as “the world’s most exciting and entertaining culinary destination.” And we’re not just reading that from a brochure either. It’s actually true.

Bonus wine trivia: "Sommelier" comes from the French "saumalier," which originally meant "pack animal driver."

Vegas Uncork’d offers “intimate access to celebrity chefs in the most dynamic culinary destination in the world.” For the record, we didn’t write that “intimate access” part, so we’re pretty much off the hook if anything scandalous happens.

The stellar list of chefs slated to appear include several with restaurants at Caesars Palace: Wolfgang Puck (Spago), Bradley Ogden, Carla Pellegrino (Rao’s) and Francois Payard (Payard Patisserie & Bistro).

Here’s a sneak peek of the epicurean thrills to come!
