Have No Fear, “Absinthe” Shall Return to Caesars

There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth (orthodontists love that, by the way) when one of the most buzzed-about shows in Las Vegas, “Absinthe,” announced it would be folding up its tent at Caesars Palace. The last show of its current run was Sep. 19.

But now, there’s word the obscenely funny and nail-bitingly-good show will re-open on Oct. 21, 2011. We’d say “saints be praised,” but trust us, “Absinthe” is no place for saints.

Absinthe act

It's one thrill after another at "Absinthe."

“Absinthe” will have an extended run for an additional year, and will continue to feature The Gazillionaire, the circus-like show’s “ringmaster,” and Penny Pibbets, his disarming (and delightfully foul-mouthed) co-star.

We’re thrilled to hear “Absinthe” isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It takes a lot to make this blog blush, so “Absinthe” would be sorely missed.

This isn't the first time a tent's been pitched in Vegas, but it might be the best!
