The KillersTwo of Las Vegas’s most iconic brands are about to link up again for one of the most anticipated live events in a long time. The vibe has been electric since the announcement that The Killers would be performing a 10-song live pack in front of Caesars Palace at 8 p.m. on July 31. Part of this party will be a broadcast on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that night with the rest of it airing on Kimmel’s popular YouTube channel.

For those looking to get up-close-and-personal with Brandon Flowers and Co. the only way to be a part of the audience at Caesars Palace (for free!) is to be an invited guest. But, fear not, those unable to score an invite can enjoy a free viewing shindig (starting at 6 p.m.) at The Vortex at The LINQ Hotel & Casino.

Las Vegas’ rock ‘n’ roll band and the most recognizable hotel and entertainment brand in Sin City recently teamed up in The Killers’ music video for new single, “The Man.” The Killers and Caesars Palace have proven to be such a match that it, in part, led to this exclusive performance for the ABC late night show.

The video for “The Man” focuses on lead singer Brandon Flowers – and the character(s) he is playing – seeing himself in different lights through well-known Las Vegas locations. For instance, a portion of it takes place Downtown where Flowers flirts with another man’s girlfriend, gambles with former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and performs with showgirls. He also grills out in front of a trailer in the desert and intently studies fantasizes about becoming a daredevil a la Evel Kneivel. In a bit of art imitating art, he even sings karaoke of the song this video depicts at Dino’s, a famous Vegas dive bar.

As for how Caesars Palace fit into the whole thing, producer Chuck Akin says, “We needed something really high end, something that would show how posh his living was in his head. Where he thinks he is, it’s larger than life. So we just had to go way high end and the highest end I could think of was Caesars and The Villas.”

Both the Mark Antony and Cleopatra Villas were used for the shoot. Akin, a Las Vegas-based producer and partner in Oogoog Productions, knew the team would be able to maximize the feel with all the accouterments that came with the Mark Antony Villa.

“We ended up using the Mark Antony Villa because it had the grand piano, the fountain, and the view that we needed of the marquee and him contemplating where he was at in the story,” Akin says.

The villas, part of the Caesars Suites collection, includes an indoor fountain, a fireplace, marble baths and an awesome Strip view as evidenced in the video. It was the perfect setting for the piece in the video where Flowers, in a tuxedo, throws a party with just himself and about 10 beautiful women.

Akin loves working with the Caesars brand and feels it’s a real advantage for the Las Vegas film industry. He explains, “Caesars is open to showcasing local talent and they want more stuff to film here and they want more people locally to film here. They help local production companies make sure that their projects are fulfilled and are executed at the highest level.”

He hopes to continue filming in the amazing locations the Caesars’ Empire offers. Says Akin, “Each time you’re given an opportunity to shoot something on Caesars’ properties [you’re given an opportunity] to showcase the talent of the production and the creatives so hopefully each time you can get a better opportunity. Maybe we can have something film in the Caesars Entertainment Studios. We have a project that would be perfect for it.”

“The Man,” the brand and a great Las Vegas’ band – no wonder the video and the upcoming live performance have already been met with such excitement.

  1. how does one become an invited Killers guest??? we want to drive out from CA and stay at Caesars and make a weekend on it but watching the show across the street/strip on a roof top seems a little cray-cray 🙁

What does one have to do, or be, to get invited I wonder? Besides incredibly lucky…

  3. Kevin-szur

    How can I get in?

  4. Daniel G.

Just out of curiosity, how does one get an invitation? Sounds pretty exciting.

    Hi Daniel –
We have not heard how guests will be invited. I would keep an eye on The Killers’ social media and Caesars Palace’s social media to see if they give any more details. There is a local radio station, X-107.5, that is giving away VIP tix. Check out @DaveAndMahoney on Twitter to see how you can win from them. The public is also free to watch the show from The Vortex at The LINQ across the street.
