Work on the new Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace is proceeding according to plan, and actor Robert De Niro, a shareholder in Nobu Hospitality, stopped by Caesars this week to check on the project’s progress.
Chef Nobu Matsuhisa (pictured below, center) hosted the visit, and joined De Niro, as well as his fellow shareholder Meir Teper, in reviewing furnishings and choosing design elements for the 180-room hotel-within-a-hotel which will open in the fall.

Robert De Niro and Nobu Matsuhisa express concerns to Caesars Palace Regional President Gary Selesner about Nobu Hotel being "too awesome." (We may have just made that up.)
The Nobu Hotel, which will include a restaurant and lounge, will “feature a stylish interior design that showcases natural materials, fused with Nobu’s signature Japanese elegance.” Thank you, news release, for making this blog sound much more knowledgeable than it really is.

These kids today and their graffiti! Unrelated: Bonus points if you can spot a flying cow in this photo.
Thanks to Ethan Miller for the pics. Oh, and the flying cow belongs to Old Homestead Steakhouse. (Note: Bonus points are not redeemable for cash.)
