MLG Phase 2 - front to back

Martin Lawrence Galleries is a white hot epicenter for art lovers and collectors.

Talk about state of the art: The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace may be home to legendary luxury designers such as Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo, but it also houses another stylish gem—Martin Lawrence Galleries, the largest private owned art gallery in the world. If in the need of a shopping break, head past Christian Louboutin and toward the newly remodeled Fall of Atlantis fountain show; among The Forum Shops’ fashionable offerings lies the 26,000-square-foot spectacle, filled with some of the world’s rarest and most renowned pieces. Though everything on the wall is for sale, it also functions as a museum-like attraction because of its enviable array of art from all genres and time periods.

The gallery gets some extra star power with its display of Marilyn Monroe pop art by Andy Warhol.

The gallery kicks it up a notch this month with its in-store Fall Fine Art Auction event at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, (a preview begins at 6:30 p.m.) where new or seasoned collectors can look over more than 1,000 pieces, at 30-70 percent less. Many works from Martin Lawrence Galleries’ collection of authentic, original artwork go up for auction, and some new pieces are specifically brought in for the event. Among cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, check out the rare sculptures, paintings and lithographs, such as hot pick “Portrait de Jacqueline de Face II” by Pablo Picasso and Mark Kostabi’s “Didn’t We Have a Ball?” (Total value of all the works up for a bidding war? A whopping $24 million.)

This Picasso piece is one of the top picks up for grabs at the auction on September 28.

Martin Lawrence Galleries has 11 total locations around the globe, but none shine brighter than its flagship crown jewel at The Forum Shops. Among standouts such as Auguste Rodin’s “The Thinker” and “Flower Suites” by Andy Warhol, are creations by Marc Chagall, Takashi Murakami, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring, and perhaps the gallery’s priciest piece, Warhol’s “African Elephant.”

The gallery also ships worldwide, as it attracts a slew of sophisticated international buyers who make the trip out just to see what new pieces are hanging out. Happy bidding!
