The Man, the Legend, the Rabbit

We recently pointed you to a newspaper article featuring none other than Rabbit, a Las Vegas institution. Rabbit has been a bellman at Caesars Palace for an astonishing 43 years. See? We don’t use the word “institution” lightly.

Rabbit was around back when they were first handing out cool.

Well, we had to meet Rabbit for ourselves, of course. Whatever you do when you’re in Vegas, make sure to stop by and say “hello” to Rabbit, especially if you enjoy stories about Las Vegas. And we do. A lot.

It's 43 years. Don't believe everything you read.

At 72, Rabbit’s still going strong, but we apparently scooped even the newspaper, because Rabbit told us he’ll retire in February after a lifetime of service to Caesars Palace guests.

When you see Rabbit, ask him about his days as a Golden Gloves boxer. Or about meeting President Obama during his recent stay at Caesars Palace. He might even tell you the story about the $10,000 tip he got from a high roller just for escorting the player’s wife to a show.

Rabbit’s got a million of ’em.

We asked Rabbit how his co-workers react to all the attention he gets as the face of Caesars Palace (other than Caesar’s, of course). He said, “They sometimes kid me, saying how they’ve been here as long as I have, and nobody makes a fuss about them, but I say it’s not how long you’ve been in a job, it’s what you DO in the job.”

Rabbit’s done it all. So, stop by and say “hi” before Rabbit hangs up his uniform!

His only complaint: “Everyone takes pictures of me, but nobody ever sends me the pictures!” Rabbit, we’ve got you covered this time.

As timeless as Caesars Palace itself.
