This Las Vegas blog is a huge fan of free, and there are tons of things to do in Vegas that involve an expenditure of exactly zero.

Today’s free thing? The Atlantis aquarium at The Forum Shops inside Caesars Palace.

Fifty thousand gallons of free!

We not only love the free, we also love fishies! Even the ones that don’t tend to care for us. It happens.

We're not kidding. This fish wanted to devour us. You can just tell.

The 50,000-gallon saltwater Atlantis aquarium features more than 300 colorful tropical fish.

The aquarium is located in the Roman Great Hall, next to the popular Fall of Atlantis show (also free!) featuring colorful fountains, an epic sibling rivalry, pyrotechnics, good and evil and animatronics that are far more fun than creepy, promise.

The aquarium contains many rare fish, including this member of the "proboscus hilarious" family.

At the aquarium, be sure to catch the aquarists, whatever those might actually be, as they feed the fish during dives scheduled at 1:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. each day.

This stingray may, in fact, be some kind of alien life form. We're just saying.

Families can take a complimentary below-the-scenes guided tour of the support facilities Mon. through Fri. at 3:15 p.m. Assuming the kids aren’t still freaking out from the animatronics, of course.

And if aquariums aren’t exactly your cup of tea, here’s another attraction you’re sure to love nearby.

Who knew there was an Apple store at The Forum Shops?

You can always send the offspring over to the aquarium while you check out the new iPhone 4G. There’s something for everybody in Vegas, baby.
