The famed Improv comedy club at Harrah’s Las Vegas celebrated its 15th year at the iconic resort Strip resort on Apr. 30. And, boy, are its arms tired! (Bah-dum-bump.)

Bud Friedman, founder of The Improv and discoverer of innumerable comedic talents (Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Lewis, Jay Leno and Andy Kaufman among them), hosted a celebratory gathering of comedians including Flamingo favorite Vinnie Favorito (also discovered by Friedman) and others.

The immortal Bud Friedman, the comedy star-maker!

A highlight of the event was an official proclamation from Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman naming the day “The Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas Day.” A big, fancy font was involved, so you know it was official.

The Improv has its own day. You should get one. They're fun.

The guffaw of comedians cut a gigantic cake in honor of the auspicious day. (Hey, a group of dolphins is a “pod, and a group of crows is called a “murder,” so, from here on out, a group of comedians is called a “guffaw.” Get used to it.)

Bud Friedman, and a guffaw of comedians, enjoy an anniversary cake.

A special show featuring comedy veteran Charles Fleischer followed. He took the opportunity to tease us about taking so many photos. “Why not just take a video and make things easier on yourself?” Funny guy.

Charles Fleischer

Bonus factoid: Comedian Charles Fleischer was the voice of the titular character in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" That's right. We said titular. This is a Vegas blog, baby!

Congrats to everyone at Harrah’s Las Vegas and The Improv on such a stunningly successful run!
