Another long-standing Las Vegas rumor confirmed! As we first posted in Feb., Flamingo Las Vegas will unveil a $10 million addition, “Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo,” in Oct. of 2011. This is the first casino to bear the much-beloved Margaritaville name.
Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant has been a visitor favorite since it opened in 2004, and now the laid-back island vibe will extend to a shiny, new casino area that will inhabit the space previously used by Steakhouse 46.
The Margaritaville Casino will be directly accessible from the Strip sidewalk and will feature 15,000-square-feet of gaming space, including 22 gaming tables and 220 slot machines.
The centerpiece of the expansion will be the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, inspired by the Buffett favorite, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” Which we feel strangely compelled to share, videowise. Here’s Alan Jackson’s take on the ditty, with a hand from Mr. Buffett himself.
So, Parrotheads, ready to get the full Margaritaville experience? We’ll have more details as they become available. In the meantime, find out more about the hook-pulling pirates and “Las Vegas Cutie” at Margaritaville inside the Flamingo.
