World Series of Beer Pong Champs Crowned

Besting a field of 400 teams at the World Series of Beer Pong V, a pair of buddies from Long Island, calling themselves “Smashing Time,” has prevailed, winning bragging rights and $50,000 in prize money.

It was a day of glory. A day of reckoning. A day of beer.

The victory is a repeat win for Smashing Time, having prevailed in the World Series of Beer Pong IV last year. At this year’s event at Flamingo Las Vegas, champs Ron Hamilton and Michael “Pop” Popielarski beat out hopefuls from around the globe for the top spot and a place in beer pong history.

Clearest instructions for any sport, ever.

Beer pong is played on 8-foot-long tables. Teams alternate trying to put ping pong balls into their competition’s cups.

Several of the teams vying for the World Series of Beer Pong title earned their spot at the weekly tournaments at O’Sheas, known as the home of all things beer pong on the Strip. Among other things.

Accuracy seems to decrease as beer pong matches progress. We have no idea why.
