Olivia Newton-John and Flamingo Las Vegas hotel are both icons in their own respect, and now the two are merging as the blonde singer has signed on for a long-awaited show residency. The show’s name, “Summer Nights” gives a wink to the timeless beauty’s famous role as Sandy in the movie musical “Grease.”

Kicking off April 8, she’ll play select dates (announced through August, so far.) General public tickets for the following dates go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m., but Total Rewards members have access to an exclusive early pre-sale from Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. to Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10 p.m.

April: 8-12
May: 6-10, 27-31
July: 1-5, 29-31
Aug: 1, 2, 5-9, 12-16, 19-23, 26-30

Dazzling in the Donny & Marie Showroom, Newton-John will perform during Donny and Marie Osmond’s time off. Showcasing her best hits from over four decades, she’ll take audiences on a journey through her storied life as a beloved actress, singer and songwriter. The “Xanadu” star has had quite the variety of hits, including the innocent tunes of “Grease” such as “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re The One That I Want,” and of course, “Summer Nights.” She’ll also perform illustrious hits such as “I Honestly Love You” and her ‘80s anthem you can’t help but love: “Physical.”

Also a breast cancer survivor-turned-advocate and philanthropist, Newton-John recently spoke to me about the show’s charitable twist and what she has in store for Las Vegas audiences

You have so much going on between your wellness centre and advocacy, and your entertainment career. Why now do you feel it’s the right time in your life for a Vegas residency?
I’ve always loved Las Vegas – great shopping, restaurants and spas. And, after a great deal of touring over the last few years it will be wonderful to have one place to call home for a while and for my fans to come see me. I’ve played Vegas many times over the years and I am really excited about performing at the Flamingo. The showroom reminds me of “old Vegas” and it’s the perfect venue for my show which has a very intimate feel.

Will this show be sort of a homage to all the decades of your career with a little bit of new material?
I’m very grateful to have had so many hits through the years and the show will be just that – a musical journey through my life from the ’70s through today. Of course I will include the hits that everyone, including me, loves – from “Grease” and “Xanadu” – as well as songs from my early country years. I’m also very excited to sing some new songs that really touch on the focus of my life these days, health and wellness. I have always healed myself with music. It is something everyone needs at some point.

What can audiences expect as far as the vibe and feel and look of the show?
The show will be a mix of all my hits and I hope the feeling they get is fun! I love when I hear people say “that song of yours reminds me of….” We all love to reminisce and hear songs from special times in our lives.

What do you love about Las Vegas audiences?
I love that Vegas audiences are here to have a good time, and they consist of people and fans from all over the world. One of my first live shows was here in Vegas back in the early ’70s. I always have a good time when I am on stage here.

Can you speak a little about the details of your fundraising and advocacy through the show, and why it’s important to you?
Yes, a portion of every ticket sold to my shows at the Flamingo will go to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in my hometown of Melbourne, Australia. I am a 22 year breast cancer “thriver” and I have spent the last 10 plus years helping to raise the money to build a state of the art cancer and wellness centre. The wellness centre is especially important to me because along with traditional cancer treatments, we provide alternative therapies to help heal the whole person – body, mind and spirit. I am thrilled that the Flamingo has agreed to do this for my Centre. That means so much to me.

Will you do meet and greets?
Yes! I’m excited to get to see so many new and familiar faces after the shows.

Will your friend John Travolta come to the show?
You never know – he’s a dear friend and of course he has an open invitation!
