Las Vegas Strip hotels will once again participate in Earth Hour on Mar. 26, 2011.

Caesars Entertainment (formerly Harrah’s Entertainment), which operates a number of Las Vegas hotels (featured in this blog), will join in the event by darkening its destinations in Vegas as well as locations around the world including the United Kingdom, Canada, Macau, Hong Kong, South Africa and Uruguay.

The Strip will go dark at 8:30 p.m. local time.

Las Vegas Earth Hour

Not as pretty as the usual Paris Las Vegas, but it's only for an hour.

Earth Hour, a global event, is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund and is intended to raise awareness about climate change.

In recent years, billions of people have taken part in this worldwide event, and it’s a surreal experience to see the Strip’s famed neon go dark.
