There’s a reason Jan. 1 is National Bloody Mary Day. The salty, spicy drink is the perfect cure for that New Year’s hangover. The alcohol gives you a little hair of the dog, the tomato juice gets your blood sugar and hydration levels back to normal and the spice will wake you up.

If you’re celebrating in Las Vegas and find yourself in need of a morning cocktail.

1. Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar at The LINQ HOTEL & CASINO

We love to go to Guy Fieri’s restaurant for a bloody mary because you can completely customize your drink to your taste. They even have a special Hangover Recovery Bloody Mary menu. Grab a card and fill out your preferences. First, pick your poison. You can choose from Tito’s vodka, Grey Goose vodka, Tanqueray gin, Patron tequila and more.

Next, pick your garnishes. You can either choose two or go the “buffet” route and combine them all. Garnishes include candied bacon, chicken apple sausage, shrimp, pickles, peppers, spicy olives and more.

Finally, choose your fire on a scale from one to three flames.

You can also add a beer back for $5 with either Miller Lite or Pabst Blue Ribbon. And if you’re in need of some serious recovery, you can make your bloody mary a 52-ounce concoction.

You can make your own bloody marys at Cafe Americano at Caesars Palace.

If you’re looking for an interesting twist on the classic bloody mary, look no further than Café Americano. They have a great selection including the Bloody Mario with basil and tomato-infused vodka, a Caprese skewer and balsamic glaze drizzle and the Bloody ‘Merica with Tito’s vodka, smoky boullion, house bloody mary mix, pulled pork olives and onions.

We also like the Bloody Marisco with jalapeno and cilantro infused tequila, house bloody mix, shrimp ceviche and a chili salt rim.

You can also make a bloody mary to your liking with Café Americano’s make-your-own bloody mary bar.

3. HEXX Kitchen + Bar at Paris Las Vegas

Need a really big bloody mary for a really big hangover? Head to HEXX for their famous Colossal bloody mary. It’s so massive it’s served in a pitcher. You’ll probably want to share, but if you don’t, that’s okay too. The Colossal is made with basil-infused vodka and is garnished with jumbo shrimp, Alaskan king crab leg, bacon, beef stick, peppers and pickled vegetables.

HEXX also serves a wide variety of other bloody marys like the Farmer’s Market with bacon-infused gin, cheddar, bacon pepper stuffed olive and a celery salt rim. The Roman is made with house-made spicy vodka, cherry tomato, pickled veggies, spicy olive and a salted rim.

If you’re looking to get your veggies in, try Alexxa’s Green Thumb with cucumber infused vodka, carrot juice, house-made mary mix, sweet celery foam, red and green pepper and a black sea salt rim.

Cabo Wabo Cantina, located inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will serve the El Gigante in honor of National Bloody Mary Day on Jan. 1.

Nurse your hangover with a bloody mary that lives up to its name. El Gigante (the giant) is made with New Amsterdam vodka and Cabo Wabo’s signature house-made blend of bloody mary mix, garnished with shrimp, olives, lemon and lime, finished with a spiced rim.

Try any one of these bloody marys and you’ll be feeling better in no time. Cheers!
