With so many exciting grand openings on the Las Vegas Strip, there’s a lot to look forward to for 2014. Now add celebrity chef and TV personality Giada De Laurentiis’ debut restaurant to the list.

If you’re a fan of the Emmy Award-winning chef’s show, “Giada at Home,” then you’re really in for a treat.  Her restaurant is slated to open in conjunction with the Strip’s newest luxury resort by Caesars Entertainment. Designed by Los Angeles-based Studio Collective, the dining destination will have a modern feel complete with clean lines, pops of color, posh living room-style furniture and huge windows overlooking the Strip. It will also offer al fresco dining – perfect for a romantic evening.

Sounds exciting, right? We haven’t even touched on the food yet!  De Laurentiis’ menu will feature Italian cuisine but with lighter, Californian influences. Diners can enjoy signature dishes made famous through her many cookbooks and TV shows, along with family recipes. De Laurentiis learned these recipes early on; she practically grew up in her family’s kitchen.

“Ever since I was a little girl hanging out at my grandfather’s restaurant, I’ve dreamed of having a restaurant of my own,” De Laurentiis stated in a press release. De Laurentiis is excited about collaborating with “Caesars Entertainment to turn this dream into a delicious reality.”

Emmy Award-winning celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis will have her first restaurant in Las Vegas, slated to open early 2014. Her menu will feature Italian cuisine with Californian influences.

There will be an antipasto station, a first for Italian eateries on the Strip. Thanks to the open kitchen, diners can even watch chefs prepare the specialty pasta of the day, create flatbreads and bake desserts. The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner and accommodate about 300 guests. Private dining rooms will be available for large groups and parties.

“Giada is a gem,” said Caesars Entertainment Regional Vice President of Food and Beverage Jeffrey Frederick. “She’s the first female celebrity chef to join the Caesars Entertainment family in Las Vegas. Finally, fans will experience firsthand Giada’s style and sophistication via her restaurant’s ambiance and cuisine.”

After studying at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, De Laurentiis moved back to the United States and worked as a professional chef in Los Angeles. After working as a food stylist, Food Network contracted her in 2002. Since her debut, De Laurentiis became one of the network’s most recognizable faces. Her TV shows include “Everyday Italian,” “Giada’s Weekend Getaways,” “Giada in Paradise: Capri, Santorini, Monaco and Thailand,” “Giada At Home” and a feature in the popular series, “Food Network Star.”

“Giada’s exuberant warm personality and dynamic style will undoubtedly result in a restaurant that will not only be a perfect match for the experience we are creating, but also will become a destination in itself,” said Tariq Shaukat, chief marketing officer for Caesars Entertainment.

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love discovering all of the city's vegan options, relaxing in hotel rooms and seeing the best concerts - no matter how big or small the crowd may be. Since I've ditched the rain in Seattle two decades ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas entertainment articles for, the LA Times and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me spending time with my husband, toddler and two pets.
