Country superstar John Rich wants you to come to his new Las Vegas bar, Redneck Riviera, and play hard.

“I’ve always dreamed of building the kind of place where my friends and family could get together and turn it up after a hard day’s work. Redneck Riviera is that place,” Rich said. “Redneck Riviera is dedicated to people having fun. This is America’s Work Hard, Play Hard brand.”

Rich’s Redneck Riviera brand has successfully been selling apparel, boots, hats and more since 2014. Now he’s branching out into nightlife with the new Las Vegas country bar expected to open in early 2017 at the Grand Bazaar Shops at Bally’s. The Las Vegas location will be one of two opening this year. The other will be in Nashville.

John Rich to open new Las Vegas bar - Redneck Riviera

Country singer John Rich talks about his new Redneck Riviera bar set to open in Vegas.

Redneck Riviera will definitely be a fun place to grab a drink, but Rich’s main focus will be on live country music at the venue. Rich, best known as part of the duo Big & Rich, was also a member of the band Lonestar, had a solo career and has written songs for several other artists, so he knows a thing or two about country music.

“There’s so many country fans that come to Las Vegas and there’s nowhere for them to go to hear live country music literally any time they want to,” said Rich. “We’re going to have live entertainment seven days a week starting at eleven in the morning, which may sound a little funny to you guys, but if you’re in Nashville that’s common,” said Rich. “We’ll start with live country music like acoustics or trios up on the stage, then at 4:30 the first band comes in and it gets loud. And then at 9 o’clock the last band comes in and it goes into overdrive for the night and winds up around two or three in the morning.”

Rich will be auditioning bands to play at Redneck Riviera. ”I’m looking for bands that can play current country music, but you’ve got to be able to play Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and throw a little Lynyrd Skynyrd in there. It’s gotta be fun and rockin’,” he said.

Las Vegas country bar theme of the Redneck Riviera

Country music, right down to the tabletops, will be the theme of Redneck Riviera.

He also envisions the bar as a place for country music stars to hang out when they are in Las Vegas.

“In country music and in Nashville, the country singers hang out where all the fans hang out. I am a country music fan so I go hang out with everybody else. That’s kind of the culture of Nashville. I would expect after the Academy of Country Music Awards in April 2017 it will be thick with country stars hanging out in here with the general public, just hanging out and having a great time. I almost envision it as the country version of the Rat Pack.”

Rich says he’ll be a regular at the bar too. ”Southwest has direct flights from Nashville to Vegas so I plan on being out here quite a bit.”

As for cocktails at Redneck Riviera, Rich says the bar will serve all of the drinks you’ll find at any regular bar, but there will also be some specialty drinks. “My granny Rich — she’s almost 85, she lives in Nashville — she has a drink she calls Dr. Comfort. It’s just her drink that she made up. It’s Dr. Pepper and Southern Comfort. There will be all the drinks you normally order at the bar as well as some down-home creations.”

A unique aspect of Redneck Riviera will be a special bar inside the bar called the Heroes Bar, which will be dedicated to veterans and active duty military. The Heroes Bars will be adorned with memorabilia from wars and military conflicts as well as with coins that members of the armed services have given Rich over the years.

Veterans will be hired to work at the Heroes bar and veterans and active duty members will always get their first drink on the house.

“I can’t wait to see those veterans and active duty sitting at the bar and watching everybody in here go back there and thank them for their service. They’ll probably never buy a drink. They’ll get their first one free and I bet everyone will keep buying them drinks until they’re ready to go. That’s what I want to see in here,” said Rich.

If you’re not sitting at the Heroes Bar or the main bar at Redneck Riviera, you can always pull up a tailgate. The tailgate section of the bar will have real tailgates with working lights to sit on.

“Vegas is so fancy – everything’s marble and granite and we’ve got the biggest fountain and all this stuff…, said Rich. “When you come in here I wanted it to feel like what you do when you’re back home…You’ll be able to sit on a tailgate and watch Big & Rich or whoever’s up there playing.”

If you get hungry while you’re partying at Redneck Riviera, you’ll be able to order food from the famous Wahlberg family, who recently opened their Wahlburgers franchise directly underneath Redneck Riviera at the Grand Bazaar Shops. It’ll be delivered right to where you’re sitting in the bar. Rich says Wahlburgers might even concoct a special Redneck Riviera burger just for the bar. We can’t wait to taste it — and wash it down with a Dr. Comfort.
