Vegas is a memorable place and you’ll want to keep those memories alive after you get back home to the grind. A great way to do that is to buy yourself a souvenir. You’d better throw a couple in for your kids too. Everyone loves to get a little gift after a trip and in Las Vegas we’ve got everything from the funny to the flashy.

To help you out, we put together a “Top 10 Las Vegas Souvenirs” list, and made a beeline to the mother of all souvenir shops, the Bonanza Gift Shop (corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Sahara). It’s billed as the world’s largest gift shop. With the help of sales associate Robert and Manager Angie (with 25 years in the souvenir biz), here’s our top 10.

10. Coffee mugs. You’re going to need all the caffeine you can handle to power your way through Vegas.

9. Shot glasses. Small. Light. Inexpensive. The perfect gift to bring home to friends and loved ones. And let’s not forget the collectors. You can all raise a toast to your Vegas memories.

8. Lighted Vegas signs. Yes, we have one and we think everyone needs one.

7. Keychains. Everyone has keys!

Ah, the Vegas souvenir goodness.

6. Playing cards. Cards that were once used in actual Vegas casinos are a beloved souvenir. Of course, you want to get cards from your favorite Las Vegas casino, like the Rio Las Vegas (see photo below).

5. Anything Elvis. Yes, the King still reigns in Las Vegas. Souvenir shoppers seem to prefer Elvis during his white jumpsuit phase, says Bonanza Manager Angie.

4. T-Shirts. These are a perennial favorite. The sentiments range from funny to silly to profound. The most popular? Probably the ones that proclaim how much people love Las Vegas. We’re on board with that.

3. Baseball caps. Use ’em while you’re here to keep that blazing sun away, and they make a great keepsake for years to come.

It’s like a Vegas buffet. But for your eyes.

We’re in the home stretch.

2. Dice clock! Definitely a favorite of kitsch-lovers everywhere. Learn more in our recent post.

A Vegas tradition. Like six-foot-tall cocktails.

And here’s the souvenir you NEVER would have suspected is number one, but we confirmed it.

1. Polly the Insulting Parrot. No kidding! Apparently, even though it has almost nothing to do with Vegas, this wacky, motion-sensitive, foul-mouthed toy is apparently flying off the shelves at Bonanza.

Some things aren’t meant to be understood.
