Sweet 16: Our Favorite Vegas Places In The Empire

Last updated: January 7, 2019 at 12:05 pm. Posted by in Things to Do in Las Vegas. Comments Off on Sweet 16: Our Favorite Vegas Places In The Empire.

We’re sure by now, you’ve read the “Best of…” lists before. Best fine dining. Best hotel. Best bar. Best this. Best that. Forget the typical “best” lists. Here we give you dragons, cupcake vending machines and bunk beds. Our “Best of” is a fun, unique roundup that’ll add some real oomph to your next Vegas trip.

The Best of Caesars Entertainment

Best of Caesars Entertainment's shows - Piff the Magic Dragon

Say hi to Mr. Piffles for us when you see him in “Piff the Magic Dragon.” Photo courtesy of Caesars Entertainment.

Get Slayed By A Dragon

Let’s kick off this blog on a fiery note. Piff the Magic Dragon at Flamingo Las Vegas delivers humor and magic — but his chihuahua will melt your heart. The “America’s Got Talent” star is more for mature audiences (he’ll even poke fun at the audience a bit, so be prepared!), but you’ll definitely have heart-filled and “aww” moments once Mr. Piffles gets on stage. By the time you’ll leave this show, you’ll be inspired to teach your own pup a trick or two. Or own a dragon suit.

Best of Caesars Entertainment's restaurants - Giada at The Cromwell

Vegans get mad love in Vegas – this picture alone proves that. Photo courtesy of GIADA.

Eat Some Fancy Vegan Food

GIADA not only has amazing views of the Strip, but the vegan options are also impressive. This Italian restaurant’s Californian-inspired dishes look good and make you feel good too. The food tastes light, but is full of flavor. The Swiss chard rolls are insanely popular and include Indian-spiced tofu, raisins and Pomodoro sauce. Here are a handful of other vegan faves:

  • Marinated olives with herbs and citrus
  • Swiss chard rolls (filled with Indian spiced brown rice, tofu, raisins and Pomodoro)
  • Mushroom arancini with vegan-friendly aioli and Pomodoro sauce
  • Wood-roasted mushrooms with toasted Marcona almonds (hold the ricotta salata if you’re vegan)

Here are more vegan options (both on and off the Strip) that’ll carry through your entire Vegas vacay.

Best Late-snacks on the Las Vegas Strip - Sprinkles Cupcake ATM

Forgot pulling out a $20. How about a couple of chocolate cupcakes instead? Photo courtesy of Sprinkles Cupcakes at The LINQ Promenade.

Get A Cupcake at 4 a.m.

The Sprinkles cupcake ATM at The LINQ Promenade has got you covered when the munchies hit. With a simple push of a button (and a swipe from your credit card), you’ll have your sweet little delight in seconds. Chocolate craving in the middle of the night? We got you, fam.

Witness Sibling Rivalry At Its Best

You think you had it bad with your siblings when they wouldn’t let you be first player in Super Mario 3? You should see what happens when a bro and sis fight over their daddy’s kingdom at The Forum Shops’ Fall of Atlantis show at Caesars Palace. Combining fire, water and a big scary dragon, this free show is a hit with kids and grown-ups alike. Our takeaway? Be nice to your siblings.

Best Caesars Entertainment room for a group - LINQ's Bunk Bed Deluxe Room

Reenact Your Childhood Sleepovers / Camp

You’re headed to Vegas, ready to party. But how nice would it be to have one aspect of your trip where you feel like a kid again? Not only will you get to bunk with your buds at The LINQ hotel, we’re sure you’ll have a round or two of pillow fights. Don’t forget to call top bunk… and find a Ninja Turtle onesie pajama set in your size.

Bonus: In-room board games are available to add to the fun. How does a game of Twister or Cards Against Humanity sound?

If you’re loud and proud with your food posting, head to Caesars Palace’s award-winning Bacchanal Buffet. You can make your friends jealous with a stack of king crab legs, a stack of pizza slices  or a stack of red velvet pancakes. Besides the decadence you see above, other popular bites include açaí breakfast bowls, made-to-order breakfast crepes, watermelon salads and more.

Best feel good show - Absinthe at Caesars Palace

Watch A Naughty Show (That Feels So Good)

Speaking of goodies, we’ve got more treats in Vegas you’ll appreciate. Two words: Bathtub Boy.

If there’s one show you need to see in Vegas, it’s Absinthe at Caesars Palace. Not only will you see the stunning (and sexy!) choreography of Bathtub Boy (pictured above), the risqué show includes raunchy humor, death-defying stunts and so much more.

Go ahead – spend a little (or a lot) at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Photo courtesy of Caesars Palace.

Blow All Your Winnings

Money, money, money…. mon-ey! You got it? Well you better flaunt it. The Forum Shops (mentioned earlier in this story) has all the swanky high-end brands you love like Chanel, Gucci, Versace, Jimmy Choo and Louis Vuitton. Or if you are ballin’ on a budget, there’s a three-story H&M where you can spend hours (without spending hundreds).

Best gift show on the Las Vegas strip - Curios gift shop at The Cromwell

Get A Souvenir That’s Not A T-Shirt Or Key chain

Coming to Vegas? Don’t be that guy who last-minute shops and grabs a bunch of key chains or apparel from the airport or drug store. Head to The Cromwell’s Curios shop and find all sorts of fun and quirky gifts your friends will love. Or, you can just spoil yourself. We’ve seen everything from vintage record players to “Alice in Wonderland” trinkets.

Unwind After A Crazy Night

Whew! After all that talk, we need to cool down. But we’re sure after a crazy weekend in Vegas, you’ll need some R&R anyway. We may be in the desert, but we can guarantee you can catch some snowfall at Qua Bath’s & Spa’s Arctic Ice Room. The refreshing room even includes ice chips for that that extra coolness factor. The 50,000-square-foot spa also has a massive Roman bathing area, complete with a waterfall and and lounge chairs. Ahhh…

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love hitting up all the city's vegan spots, having staycations and catching shows by my favorite musical acts. Since I've ditched rainy Seattle 20+ years ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas hotel and entertainment articles for, the LA Times, Frommer's and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me hanging with my two girls, along with our shih-tzu and tiger cat.
