Whether you’re a gamer who streams or a gamer who watches streams, Vegas has an epic spring in store for you: a 10-week, energy-packed live esports H1Z1 tournament.

The H1Z1 Pro League tournament kicks off on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. PST PT inside the Twin Galaxies Esports Arena located inside the 50,000-square-foot Caesars Entertainment Studios in Las Vegas. Seventy-five of the best of the best professional video game players – five for each of 15 professional esports teams – face off in an open world battle royale competition. Watch them go head-to-head each week, fighting to be the last competitor standing in this esports spectacular.

For those who aren’t familiar, H1Z1 is the original battle royale game, a genre that blends survival, exploration and scavenging elements. Think “Hunger Games,” but in a multiplayer video game — and a lot more action. Here’s a preview so you can check out the excitement for yourself:

“This is the first truly accessible esport that can be appreciated and understood by just about anyone, and the teams participating are comprised of the best battle royale players in the world,” said Jace Hall, co-chairman at Twin Galaxies.  “We’re in for an action-packed first season.”

The 15 teams will battle it out over the course of two, 10-week splits. Every match will be broadcast to millions around the world via Facebook. General admissions tickets are only $15, with VIP tickets available.

Here’s what you need to know and why you should join in the fun.

upgrade your experience by seeing it live

An esport tournament is like music – experiencing it live is always better. Attend in person and you can cheer on your favorite teams with fellow fans, meet the teams in person, enjoy great food and drinks and attend an official after party.

Here’s a sample of the amazing location where you can watch the tournament live — the Twin Galaxies Sports Arena inside Caesars Entertainment Studios.

Way better than your couch at home, right? General admission tickets are only $15 per game, but you can also order premium lounge seats ($35) or VIP experiences (starting from $65). The VIP experiences include playing on set the Tuesday before every Wednesday game, photos with your favorite team after the match and access to the official after-party.

With a purchase of a general admission ticket, Total Rewards members get the following perks:

  • Exclusive Total Rewards seating.
  • Take a commemorative team photo on stage.
  • Entry to tailgate party that includes local food trucks, bars with drinks for purchase and a live DJ.
  • Access to official after-party with special musical guest and celebrity meet-and-greet.

Tickets can be purchased online exclusively through Tixr.

Your fighters

The H1Z1 Pro League is the first professional battle royale esports league created where 15 five-person teams compete at the same time on stage – that’s a total of 75 of the world’s best players. This is also the first dedicated esports league to come to Las Vegas. Here are the 15 teams participating, hailing everywhere from North America to Europe:

  • Alliance
  • Cloud9
  • Counter Logic Gaming
  • Echo Fox
  • Epsilon Esports
  • GankStars
  • Impact Gaming
  • Luminosity
  • Noble Esports
  • Obey Alliance
  • Rogue Gaming
  • SetToDestroyX

And hey, if your favorite team ends up winning in the end, you can rub it in everyone’s faces like this.

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love discovering all of the city's vegan options, relaxing in hotel rooms and seeing the best concerts - no matter how big or small the crowd may be. Since I've ditched the rain in Seattle two decades ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas entertainment articles for Vegas.com, the LA Times and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me spending time with my husband, toddler and two pets.
