Want to make a Vegas trip this fall to take advantage of the perfect weather? Great! Why not plan your vacation around a concert by one of your favorite performers? There are so many amazing Las Vegas shows coming up in the next several months, we had trouble narrowing them down to a manageable list. But we did it, just for you—and even sorted them for easy digestion. You’re welcome.

R&B and Hip-Hop

Ms. Lauryn Hill

Sept. 18, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade

Ms. Lauryn Hill's Las Vegas shows

One of the most distinctive voices in R&B and hip-hop is back in Las Vegas for one night only at Brooklyn Bowl. If her recent shows are any indication, Ms. Lauryn Hill won’t only pull out reggae-tinged versions of her hits both solo and with the Fugees, but also covers of her favorite artists from all genres.

OLD SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY

Sept. 19, Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

MC Hammer Las Vegas shows

This is less a concert than it is a time machine: MC Hammer. En Vogue. Biz Markie. Slick Rick. Sir Mix-A-Lot. Tone Loc. Digital Underground. 2 Live Crew. JJ Fad. Young MC. ALL IN ONE CONCERT. Put your pants on backward, lace up your Jordans, and head to Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood to party like it’s 1991.

Pitbull

Select dates Sept. 23 – Oct. 7, Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

PITBULL Las Vegas shows

Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood locked down residencies for Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez, but why should the ladies get all the attention? Global music sensation Pitbull will set up shop inside Zappos Theater for seven dates this fall, with Mr. 305 bringing his Miami-spawned swagger to new audiences night after night.

Janet Jackson

Oct. 9 & 10, Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

janet Las Vegas shows

Adoring fans of Janet Jackson have been told “Let’s Wait Awhile” to see one of the best-selling, most-awarded performers in pop music performing live again, but with Miss Jackson finally making the rounds “Again” on her “Unbreakable” world tour, we’ll all be “Together Again” for two nights at Zappos Theater. Everything’s going to be “Alright” now.

Rock and Alternative

The Psychedelic Furs & The Church

Sept. 8, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Show at The LINQ Promenade

Psychedelic Furs & The Church Las Vegas shows

Both The Psychedelic Furs and The Church came to prominence in the 1980s as chart-topping pioneers of the alternative music scene, but they continue to be just as vital and influential today as they were 30 years ago. Expect to hear hits like the Furs’ “Pretty in Pink” and The Church’s “Under the Milky Way.”

Mark Knopfler

Sept. 16, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Mark Knopfler Las Vegas shows

Spend an evening at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace with former Dire Straits lead singer and guitarist Mark Knopfler as he and his band perform both Dire Straits hits and solo material spanning his nearly 40-year career.

My Morning Jacket

My Morning Jacket Las Vegas shows

If you’re not getting “Nasty” with Miss Jackson, then we sure hope you’re at Brooklyn Bowl catching indie rock powerhouse My Morning Jacket. The quintet is touring behind its latest album, The Waterfall, and will be joined by Indiana-based rock outfit Strand of Oaks.

Deftones

Oct. 27, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Show at The LINQ Promenade

deftones Las Vegas shows

One of the heaviest hitters in alternative rock is back on the road, and Sacramento, Calif.-spawned Deftones will surely unleash all its emotional and musical thunder upon the stage at Brooklyn Bowl on songs like “Engine No. 9” and “Change (In the House of Flies).”

Trey Anastasio Band

Oct. 30 & 31, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade

trey anastasio Las Vegas shows

Phish founder and lead singer Trey Anastasio is on the road with his band, performing solo favorites, Phish songs and covers of other artists, ranging from Led Zeppelin to Gorillaz. Who knows what surprises the band will pull out during a two-night stop over Halloween weekend in Las Vegas?

The Dandy Warhols

Nov. 6, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade

The Dandy Warhols Las Vegas shows

Although they hail from Portland, Ore., The Dandy Warhols made a splash in the mid-1990s with a sound that was more Manchester than Seattle. On songs like “Bohemian Like You,” the quartet blended Britpop, shoegaze and ‘60s garage rock in a way that exuded stoner cool … and they’re still doing it today. See for yourself at Brooklyn Bowl on Nov. 6 with opening act The Shelters.

Hi PJ – We are two couples going out there as part of our bucket list the weekend of October 15th – 18th. Staying at Ceasars. Suggestions for decent dinner shows or dancing? Comedy shows?
    Thanks

  10. Bev

Hi!! I’ll be there at Ballys and the linq between October 10 through the 16th what great entertainment will be nearby PJ? Thanks!!!

  11. Hey Maria! Sounds like a fun weekend you all have planned. I have suggestions for all of the things you’re looking for! Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding at Bally’s is a dinner show that combines comedy AND dancing, which sounds right up your alley: https://www.caesars.com/ballys-las-vegas/shows/tony-n-tinas-wedding The weather in October will be perfect for a visit to the outdoor Carnaval Court at Harrah’s, which features cover bands and DJs to get your feet moving: https://www.caesars.com/harrahs-las-vegas/things-to-do/nightlife-carnaval-court You may also want to pay a visit to Napoleon’s Lounge at Paris Las Vegas, which features dueling piano players banging out singalong requests: https://www.caesars.com/paris-las-vegas/shows/napoleans-dueling-pianos-lounge

As for comedy, there’s always a terrific line-up at the Improv at Harrah’s (check back on the website for the specific line-up when your trip gets closer): https://www.caesars.com/harrahs-las-vegas/shows/the-improv and if you’re looking for something a little edgier, Sin City Comedy & Burlesque at Planet Hollywood combines stand-up comedy with fun, sexy dance numbers: https://www.caesars.com/planet-hollywood/shows/sin-city-comedy

And since you’re staying at Caesars, you might want to check out Matt Goss for some old-school Vegas musical swagger in a classic lounge venue, even though the dancing is mostly handled by his back-up dancers: https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/shows/matt-goss

    Hope that helps. Have fun!!

  12. Hi Bev! First, you have a lot of options at both Bally’s and The LINQ, including classic showgirl production show Jubilee, the hilarious dinner show Tony N’Tina’s wedding, and the Strip’s newest headliner, magician-storyteller Mat Franco. Here’s Bally’s event calendar: https://www.caesars.com/ballys-las-vegas/shows/calendar and here’s the LINQ’s: https://www.caesars.com/linq/events/calendar.

Other good stuff nearby: Celine Dion’s at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on 10/10, and then the rest of the week you’re here, Elton John appears there. Janet Jackson is performing at Planet Hollywood 10/10 also, with Britney Spears returning to the same showroom 10/14. If alternative rock is your thing, My Morning Jacket is ALSO performing on 10/10 at Brooklyn Bowl at The LINQ (10/10 is a busy day!). There’s a lot more out there, of course. Check out this link for the whole enchilada: https://www.caesars.com/las-vegas/shows

    See you in Vegas!

  13. Hi Audrey! There are so many shows to compete for the title of “must-see,” but we have a few gems while you’re in town. Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano is at Caesars Palace Oct. 13 & 14: https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/shows/elton-john, Broadway hit Jersey Boys is playing almost every night of your trip at Paris Las Vegas: https://www.caesars.com/paris-las-vegas/shows/jersey-boys, and same goes for classic showgirl revue Jubilee at Bally’s: https://www.caesars.com/ballys-las-vegas/shows/jubilee. If your heart can handle something a little racier but certainly very unique, check out Absinthe at Caesars Palace, showing on Oct. 14 & 15: https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/shows/absinthe. If you need more ideas, here’s a more complete listing of Vegas shows: https://www.caesars.com/las-vegas/shows

  14. Frances Macca

Wow all these fabulous acts in sept/October! We are out 12-19 November, my husband Paul is running the Las Vegas half marathon. We are travelling from England. Any tips for best times to go on the Linq High Roller and any recommendations for best happy hour cocktails?

  15. Hey Frances – How fun! The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is a great excuse for a Vegas trip. There’s no bad time to ride the High Roller, but we think one of the best times is right at sunset — you get to see both the cityscape and the lights of the Strip, plus we usually have pretty amazing sunsets.

As for happy hours to check out while you’re here: Try Searsucker at Caesars Palace from 4:30-6 p.m. to try their signature cocktails and shareable plates for a steal. If Champagne’s your thing, FIZZ at Caesars offers bottomless bubbly from 5-7 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. nightly for $36. Chayo Mexican Kitchen at The LINQ offers 2-for-1 well drinks and $4 draft beers from 3 – 6 p.m. daily. Or, you can take advantage of the High Roller Happy Half Hour, which adds an open bar to your 30-minute ride. Happy Half Hour cabins start at 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and noon Friday-Sunday.

For more ideas, explore all Vegas has to offer at https://www.caesars.com/las-vegas/ — Enjoy your trip (and good luck to Paul on his race)!

  16. Denise

Gi, we will be in Vegas from 11-2-15 thru 11-9-15, can you tell us what’s going on and what shows are going on. Thanks

  17. Hi Denise – You can find a fairly comprehensive list of shows in Vegas at https://www.caesars.com/las-vegas/shows. Some headliners specifically in town that week include Celine Dion at Caesars Palace and Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood. Some other shows worth checking out include Mat Franco – Magic Reinvented Nightly at The LINQ, Jersey Boys at Paris Las Vegas, and Jubilee at Bally’s. Have a great trip!
