February 5-11:

Mardi Gras events and specials

If you’re not in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Las Vegas is the perfect place to enjoy a little excess and embrace the Fat Tuesday vibes. Starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10, watch a Mardi Gras parade wind its way down the Strip from Flamingo to Harrah’s. Start out at the Southwest Corner Bar outside of Flamingo, cut across The LINQ Promenade and The LINQ Hotel & Casino then end up at Carnaval Court at Harrah’s where guests can take part in contests and giveaways.

On Feb. 13, The LINQ Promenade will become the Big Easy when it’s decked out in purple, green and gold. Enjoy the tunes of an LED brass band accompanied by stilt walkers performing throughout the evening across the promenade. If you’re familiar with New Orleans protocol, you’ll be ready to jump in and join as the “second line” of the parade. Local jazz group The Matt Seward Band will perform sets from 6-10 p.m. on the fountain stage.

If you would prefer to drink your king cake instead, Le Central at Paris has a king cake martini. It’s not Mardi Gras until you’ve had a few hurricanes.Other venues offering specials on this more traditional Mardi Gras beverage include:

There’s no better way to close out the Mardi Gras celebration than winning a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2019. Stay at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino or Harrah’s Las Vegas between Feb. 1 and June 30, 2018 and be entered to win a trip to Mardi Gras 2019 at Harrah’s New Orleans.
