She’s your first best friend. The one who checked for monsters under your bed and in your closet. The one who helped you get ready for your first dance. The one whose shoulder you cried on after your first heartbreak. These reasons alone are why you should definitely take Mom to Vegas for Mother’s Day.

Sure, you can celebrate with Mom at your neighborhood cafe, but this is your time to get wild and crazy in Vegas. This Mother’s Day, make it one for the books. Treat Mom like a queen, but also help her release her spontaneous side. Let’s toast to Mother’s Day in Vegas.

see a Show with mom

A night out with Chippendales and Tyson Beckford

This Mother's Day Weekend in Vegas treat Mom to a Las Vegas Show

You’re never too old to hang out with these bad boys. We’re huge fans of the Chippendales and still on a high from getting called up on stage a few weeks back. (We’d say it’s our most memorable Vegas show experience to date.) Mom’s in for a special treat. She can see sexy supermodel Tyson Beckford take the stage. He’ll be here through Sunday, July 9, 2017. Oww!

cÉline dion at The Colosseum

Make Mother's Day in Vegas fancy this year and take Mom to see Celine DionNear, far, wherever you are… if you’re in Vegas, Céline Dion’s show is a must. She’ll sing all your favorite ballads like “If You Ask Me To,” “Power Of Love,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Because You Loved Me” and “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now,” Plus, you and Mom can admire all of her beautiful gown changes. Make your evening extra fancy and have a drink at FIZZ before or after the show.

Menopause – The Musical at Harrah’s

Embrace Mom's age this Mother's Day in Vegas, Menopause - The Musical

Mom will get a kick out of this, and you will too. These ladies in Menopause embrace their age in this hilarious show. You’ll also be dancing in your seat (or heck, maybe in the aisles!) to songs from the ’60s, ’70’s and ’80s. But we must warn you: You may have to tote some Kleenex in your purse. You’ll be crying from laughing all night.

Sightsee with Mom

the High Roller

Take Mom to see the sights of Las Vegas this Mother's Day

Join Mom on a ride on the 550-foot-tall High Roller observation wheel. Enjoy a Happy Half Hour ride, which includes an open bar and bartender in your cabin. Or if you prefer a workout over cocktails, the High Roller also offers Yoga in the Sky during the day. You’ll go through two rotations (one full hour) on the world’s tallest observation wheel as you work on your downward facing dog, tree pose and sun warrior stance. With all the beautiful views surrounding you, why would you ever want to leave? We’re sure you’ll be telling everyone namaste right here.

VooDoo Zipline

A post shared by VooDoo Zip Line (@voodoozipline) on

So remember when Mom told you scary stories / urban legends to get you to do (or not do) something? Well payback’s a B. Tell her you want to take her “sightseeing” and once she realizes she’s at VooDoo Zipline at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino…. it’s too late. But seriously, she’ll have a great time on this popular Vegas attraction. She’ll not only get to admire views of the city (400 feet high), but you two will have a chance to get extra cozy on this two-seat ride. Smile for the camera, Ma!

Speaking of heights, if your mom is already on the daring side, take her on a helicopter ride over the Strip. Feel the thrill of the weightlessness of the flight plus the bird’s-eye view of the neon lights below.

pool day

Caesars Palace's is the perfect pool to spend the day with Mom this Mother's Day in Vegas

Garden of the God’s Jupiter Pool at Caesars Palace.

People-watching counts as sightseeing in our book, especially if you’re staying at one of these lavish pools on the Strip. When you’re not admiring the hunky lifeguards or the bachelors in the cabanas beside you, you can enjoy a poolside massage or one of several tropical drinks while wading in the pool. Looking for the perfect pool to spend with Mom? We love the vibe at Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods. The Pool Oasis features several pools to choose from (ranging from quiet to more of a party atmosphere), and the architecture is breathtaking. How can the day get any better than this? Order Mom with a drink served out of a real pineapple or coconut.

Eat with Mom

Not only will you get stellar views of the Strip, but the Californian-inspired Italian dishes kick your breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner up a notch. Pair your brunch with the tasty espresso amaretto for a sweet caffeine kick.

gordon ramsay steak

Gordon Ramsay Steak's dessert is perfect for a Mom with a sweet tooth this Mother's Day in Vegas

That may look like a stick of butter, but it’s not. Would you believe us if we told you it’s ice cream? Brown butter ice cream, to be exact. Delight in this sticky toffee pudding at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas. This sweet pudding cake is the perfect ice cream accompaniment. Pour warm sugar toffee sauce over that hunk of goodness and you’re in heaven. It’s seriously the best dessert on earth and Mom will be very happy.

Tips on the best Mother’s Day in Vegas

  • Make your dining reservations as soon as possible. There’s nothing like walking up to the host stand, only to find out that they’re booked. Mother’s Day is a big deal, so make sure you’re good to go.
  • Feel like sleeping in or lounging all day? Do it! Sure, we love getting spiffy for brunch, but if we can enjoy our hotel room in our super-soft bathrobe, why not? Boutique hotels like Nobu inside Caesars Palace and The Cromwell have in-room fine dining. That means you can order from an exclusive menu and have these delightful dishes brought to your room. Have an HGTV marathon while you’re at it.
  • Enjoy bottomless mimosas. Bottoms up: Be bad and boozy with mom with unlimited mimosas at the following restaurants: Border Grill inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Bacchanal buffet (also at Caesars Palace), Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas and Sterling Brunch at Bally’s.
  • Take lots and lots of pictures. You’re about to experience the best weekend with Mom and you’ll have the memories to prove it. Plus, you can show off to your siblings who’s really the favorite.

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love discovering all of the city's vegan options, relaxing in hotel rooms and seeing the best concerts - no matter how big or small the crowd may be. Since I've ditched the rain in Seattle two decades ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas entertainment articles for Vegas.com, the LA Times and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me spending time with my husband, toddler and two pets.
