It’s a new year and we’re ready for some new adventures in Las Vegas. This being the Entertainment Capital of the World, you can bet we’ve got plenty of fresh shows we’re eager to see. But headline acts aren’t the only new thing shaking up the city. We’ve got tasty new dining spots, renovated rooms and exciting nightlife to try out. Take a gander at our list of new things to do Las Vegas to experience in 2017.
Show us the way
Backstreet’s Back
You could hear our fan girl screaming from the next state when the Backstreet Boys announced that they would be doing a residency at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. We’re eagerly waiting to see which hit songs they include in their show, but hope that our fan faves of “Everybody,” “I Want It That Way” and “Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely” make the cut. Whatever they choose, this show will be “Larger Than Life.”
Howie Dorough told Vegas Player that the group was excited to be coming to Las Vegas and are busy creating an unbelievable show. “We’re going to make something spectacular that our fans have never seen before.”
March 1 can’t get here fast enough.

Keith forever
Time to pull out that sexy black dress you’ve been saving for a special night, because Keith Sweat’s coming to the Flamingo Las Vegas and he’s bringing the sultry. With R&B hits like “Make It Last Forever” and “Nobody,” you’ll be remembering those hot nights with someone you loved. Or maybe you just want to groove to jams like “Twisted” and “Don’t Stop Your Love” as you dance with your sweetheart. Either way, you’ll find us front row as Sweat celebrates the 30th anniversary of his triple-platinum album “Make It Last Forever” accompanied by MADtv cast member, Aries Spears as the opening act January 17 through February 4.
OUR TENORS ROCK
This is Vegas, so when five burly British tenors harmonize together, they don’t just sing, they rock! The Tenors of Rock shot to fame as finalists on The X Factor UK and we’ve been itching to hear their versions of Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses, to power ballads like The Eagles’ “Desperado,” to “Livin’ On A Prayer” from Bon Jovi ever since. Come Jan. 11 we’ll pack the Harrah’s Showroom ready to raise our cellphone lighter apps high as we headbang to the harmonies of Gareth Richards, Dai Richards, Jimmy Denning, Jonathan Williams and Tommy Sherlock.
Ralphie May
Stop making apologies and just get to Vegas and see Ralphie May at Harrah’s Las Vegas. May promises a night of dirty, irreverent and loveable comedy as he takes comedic shots at everything from race to politics to his family life in his show, aptly titled “No Apologies.”

Sexy new rooms
Harrah’s Modern
This year we can’t wait to lie back and relax in the new modern rooms at Harrah’s Las Vegas. The resort has already rolled out renovations on 600 standard rooms and 72 suites with even more being renovated in 2017. The rooms feature cool lines accented by purple and gray with a 49-inch HD TV, rain shower and more.
PLUSH PARIS
Sleek and sexy, get ready to be seduced in 2017 by Paris Las Vegas’ remodeled rooms and suites. From the sultry Burgundy rooms with leather headboard, velvet chair and modern art to elegant new suites, you’ll feel like you’re retiring to a room in the City of Lights when you’re really in the City of Neon.
Planet Hollywood Gets Hipper
We’ve already been indulging our inner rock star in the Ultra Hip rooms at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. But this year we’re excited to see that the resort’s hip rooms will be renovated to Ultra Hip levels. It’s like scoring tickets to your favorite concert only to be surprised with a VIP upgrade as well.

Lovin’ the LINQ
2017 is the year of The LINQ as The Promenade keeps rolling out great new restaurants and new experiences. Before 2016 ended, we were treated to our new fave fried food in Vegas with Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips. Then we enjoyed the one-two culinary punch of Virgil’s BBQ and In-N-Out Burger. 2017 won’t be a slouch either when Jaburritos and Canter’s Deli both open.
It’s not just dining delights that LINQ Promenade visitors can indulge in. In addition to the High Roller observation wheel and its unique packages (Happy Half Hour, chocolate and yoga!) and Brooklyn Bowl’s amazing concerts, you can now fly like a superhero, skydive, shoot zombies and more with Adventure VR.
Sekushi at Paris Las Vegas
Sshhhhh… there’s a new sushi spot at Paris Las Vegas that quietly opened in December and is becoming our new fave spot for a quick bite – Sekushi. Try the foie gras sushi, oysters, otoro, creamy seafood udon and more. Don’t worry if not all of your party wants sushi as there are other options to please the seafood haters like a chicken teriyaki bento box, gyoza, pork katsu and more.
New Nightlife
Alto
Get ready to party big in 2017 at the new Alto Bar. The bar opened in October and is already creating a dynamic new nightlife spot to start or end the evening at Caesars Palace. It ratcheted up the energy in December rolling out the Oculus Virtual Reality Lounge. Guests can use four Oculus Rifts with Touch to enjoy an immersive 360-degree gaming experience through March 28.
Alto is located next to OMNIA Nightclub and the Race and Sports Book, it is the resorts largest bar with 15 televisions, 18 video poker machines and a private dining area where up to 30 people can throw a custom party.
DJ Kaskade and Zedd at Omnia
OMNIA nightclub has had us mesmerized since it first opened. The DJs, the chandelier that looks like a UFO, the music… it just couldn’t get any better. Oh wait, it did. Hakkasan Group has just signed DJs Kaskade and Zedd to join its stellar lineup. Kaskade kicked off the New Year’s Eve weekend celebrations at OMNIA and is scheduled to perform select dates throughout the year. He’s next up at OMNIA on Jan. 27 and Feb. 17. Zedd starts his run at OMNIA on Jan. 7 with additional OMNIA performances scheduled for Jan. 21 and March 14.
REDNECK RIVIERA
In 2017 we’re going country when music star John Rich brings his Redneck Riviera Bar to the Grand Bazaar Shops at Bally’s Las Vegas. More than just a country-inspired watering hole, Redneck Riviera will feature live musical acts. Rich is committed to creating a vibe that you find in Nashville with country acts musicians performing throughout the day and night. We’re also eager to try out some of the bar’s specialty drinks including the Dr. Comfort – Dr. Pepper and Southern Comfort.
