Break out the football jerseys and Pennywise costumes and get to Las Vegas. October in Vegas ushers in cooler weather, lots of football and the Halloween season. This year there are plenty of events to keep you busy and full of tasty treats from football food and drink specials to Halloween at The LINQ. Read on to find out where to find free Gordon Ramsay milkshakes and when kids can score free rides on the High Roller.

October 1-7:

Oktoberfest at Harrah’s Las vegas

Grab a stein and celebrate Oktoberfest center Strip at Harrah’s Las Vegas. From Sept. 29  – Oct. 1, check out themed entertainment with German games and dancing while you much on treats from the bratwurst and pretzel cart. Feeling strong? Enter the Sam Adams Octoberfest Stein Hoisting Competition Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.

The Flamingo Challenge

It’s time to don your finest pink outfit and stand on one leg for a good cause. The Flamingo Challenge runs through Oct. 31, raising money for the American Cancer Society. Post a picture of yourself on social media and challenge your friends to donate. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #FlamingoChallenge and donate here.

Pink Week

October is Pinktober in honor of breast cancer awareness and those who battle the disease. The LINQ Promenade kicks things off a tad early on Saturday, Sept. 30 with a special ceremony and lighting of the High Roller. As the world’s tallest observation wheel turns pink, Chippendales dancers will escort breast cancer survivors at this special ceremony.

On Sunday, Oct. 1, head to the Bras for the Cause Fashion Show at 4 p.m., also on The Promenade. Caesars Entertainment employees have created one-of-a-kind bras that will be auctioned off to the public to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

If 5Ks are a little daunting, try a fun run down The LINQ Promenade. Strap on your running shoes on Friday, Oct. 6 at 8 a.m. for the 86 Breast Cancer Family Fun Run.

National Taco Day

Not that we really need a reason to eat tacos but Oct. 4 is officially National Taco Day. Well, we don’t know how “official” it really is but again, any reason to eat tacos! Cabo Wabo Cantina inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is celebrating with several delicious taco dishes. Enjoy the fall weather at this Strip-side cantina with short rib barbacoa tacos with salsa arbol, Baja-style grilled fish tacos and carne asada tacos.

If you’re looking to eat outside the box for National Taco Day, consider some of the more unique taco offerings on the Strip like the Nobu Style Tacos at Nobu in Caesars Palace including lobster, tuna, king crab and salmon options. Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar at The LINQ Hotel & Casino has its own spin on tacos with Sashimi Wonton Tacos.

The Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will heat up Oct. 4 – 7 when resident headliner Jennifer Lopez returns with her “ALL I HAVE” show. Hear all her classic hits in a state-of-the-art theater with the world’s largest indoor projection screen. She literally leaves all she has on the stage so come see this upbeat, dance-heavy production to experience Jennifer Lopez in all her glory.

It’s been a whole year full of delicious, crispy fried goodness at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips on The LINQ Promenade. We still can’t decide between the Biscoff and the sticky toffee pudding milkshakes. They’re both amazing and you can score free mini versions of these sweet treats when the restaurant celebrates its anniversary on Oct. 7.

New to The LINQ

The LINQ Promenade is getting some new tenants. The hotly anticipated Canter’s Deli opens in November but this October you can enjoy Nectar Bath Treats and Kappa Toys. Don’t be fooled by the delicious looking bath and body treats at Nectar Bath Treats, they only look good enough to eat. They’re not actual desserts. This bakery-style shop features tasty looking handmade bath and body items with all natural ingredients. Family-owned toy store Kappa Toys is known for its vintage items so come take a walk down memory lane and get you young ones the toys that once brought you so much joy.

Oktoberfest at Spago

It’s time to whip out your lederhosen! Oktoberfest has returned to Wolfgang Puck’s Spago at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Celebrate with German-inspired menu items and beer specials beginning October 1. Enjoy treats like a German-style pretzel with Bavarian mustard, pork wiener schnitzel and goulash sauerbraten. Be sure to save room for German chocolate cake for dessert. The special beer list includes Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest, Left Hand Oktoberfest Märzen Lager, Dogfish Head Punkin’ Ale and JK’s Farmhouse Northern Neighbour Cider. Prost!

In addition to Oktoberfest specials, check out the new desserts added to the menu at Spago. The spiked lemon is a tart and sweet treat that combines lemon cake with yuzu cream and Kalamansi gel. It’s finished with white chocolate and lime mousse and a lime-infused crunchy meringue. The Cube is Wolfgang Puck’s ode to a candied walnut brownie, featuring dark chocolate sea salt mousse along with a chocolate liqueur sauce.

October 8-14:

Britney Spears

It’s time to catch her while you can. Pop princess Britney Spears is wrapping up her Planet Hollywood residency this year and her show at the Zappos Theater is not to be missed. Hear classic hits like “Baby One More Time” and explosive dance numbers to songs from her newer albums. Britney performs Oct. 11-14, 18, 20, 21, 27 and 28.

Sebastian Maniscalco

Though his show is titled “Why Would You Do That,” there are many reasons why you should see Sebastian Maniscalco’s Vegas show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Oct. 8. The hilarious comedian was recognized as the “Just for Laughs’” Stand Up Comedian of the Year in 2016. He’s been performing for more than a decade and has multiple specials on Comedy Central and Showtime. The late night show regular is sure to bring the laughs.

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band will be rocking out at Planet Hollywood this October. Catch the former Beatles drummer with his All Starr ensemble featuring Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Steve Lukather, Richard Page, Warren Harm and Gregg Bissonett. They take the stage at the PH Showroom Oct. 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 24, 27 and 28.

Football season just got a whole lot tastier at Ringer Wings, Pizza & Sliders at Planet Hollywood. While Oktoberfest in Germany is traditionally held in September, Caesars Palace celebrates Octoberfest during the actual month of its name. Head to the Roman Plaza just off the hotel lobby Oct. 20 – 22 for Octoberfest beer specials and samples, fun outdoor games and live music.

On Oct. 22, The Colosseum gets the blues. Grammy-nominated blues-rock guitar icon Joe Bonamassa brings his tour to Caesars Palace, in support of his latest studio solo album, “Blues of Desperation.” This will be Bonamassa’s first time performing on the Las Vegas Strip so don’t miss his inaugural Colosseum show.

Major Series of Putting

Qualifying events have been held all summer and now it’s time to see who’s the best putter of them all. If you ever watch golf and are in awe of the putting mastery on display, then the Major Series of Putting is your event. Watch participants from across the country compete for millions in prize money at the course set up behind Planet Hollywood. The high-stakes championship takes place on a 20,000-square-foot surface designed by world-leading Nicklaus Design. Events kick off Oct. 27.

Montecristo Cigar Bar hosts its next Social Club event Oct. 25. Guests can sign up for a lifetime membership to the Montecristo Social Club at Caesars Palace for $100. Members will receive 10 percent off all beverages all the time for up to four people, as well as early access and exclusive membership pricing on monthly cigar and spirit events. Each member will also receive an exclusive Club Member card with their name engraved on it. (Fancy!) This month’s event includes a featured cigar of the month plus four featured cocktails.

New menu items at Mesa Grill

Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill has added a lineup of delicious new items to the menu. Check out the roasted beet tamale with goat cheese and tangerine yogurt dressing. Avocado lovers will devour the crusted avocado tostada with blue corn masa, panko-crusted avocado, black bean and piquillo relish with a cumin habanero crema drizzled on top. Take chips and salsa to the next level with new Mesa spreads. Masa chips are served with crushed avocado relish and cucumber jicama relish, topped with fresh ricotta cheese and red chile pipian salsa.

Celebrate the Halloween season at The LINQ Promendae where Halloween characters will be on display throughout the Promenade for your selfie-taking pleasure. The High Roller wheel house will also be decorated for the spooky season. From Halloweekend-Halloween night (Friday, Oct. 27 through Tuesday, Oct. 31) check out The Witching Hour, a spooky and fun show performing nightly from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Promenade stage.

On Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m., bring the family for TRIQ or Treat for the kids. LINQ Promenade merchants will be handing out candy as guests stroll through the Promenade. Come in costume to catch the show plus an LED drum line starting at 6 p.m., followed by a costume contest at 9 p.m. There will be $15,000 up for grabs so dress to impress. Children 12 and under can ride The High Roller for free on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27 – 29.

Expect a night filled with laughs as two of Hollywood’s funniest performers team up on a retrospective of their solo work and the projects they’ve worked on as a team. Two of the “Three Amigos” take you through their most hilarious moments plus Steve Martin plays his banjo, making it a multi-faceted night of entertainment.

Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas celebrates the college football season with viewing parties and a Pigskin Pig Roast every Saturday through the end of the season. The event features a whole pig slow-roasted and served as barbecue selections with traditional sides. There are dozens of high-definition TVs throughout the rooftop bar and you can place live bets at Beer Park’s in-house sports book. There are more than 100 beers to choose from while cheering on your favorite team.
