Here in Las Vegas, the temperatures outside are still wickedly hot, so it may be hard to believe, but fall is just around the corner. And that can mean only one thing—football is back! Oh, no, wait, it means another thing, too: Oktoberfest is coming! There are few things more beautiful in the world than a festival whose sole purpose is to celebrate beer and its consumption (yes, we know, there’s some Bavarian cultural stuff in there, too). However, if you can’t make it to the 16-day festival in Munich, then where better to celebrate this tradition than poolside in the center of the Las Vegas Strip?

The Pool at the LINQ Hotel & Casino is hosting its own Oktoberfest celebration from 8 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 2, featuring live entertainment, games, German-style food, and of course, plenty of beer—more than 25 different options from 15-plus breweries. In addition to the selections pictured above, the copious craft beer offerings include Victory Festbier, Hofbrau Dunkel, Ballast Point Dead Ringer Marzen, and Las Vegas’ own Tenaya Creek Oktoberfest Lager.

Food will include traditional German goodies such as apfelstrudel (apple strudel slices), brezel (soft pretzel pieces), wurst (sausage with sauerkraut) and authentic German potato salad. Dan Fester, the live-looping, one-man band, will provide an all-request live soundtrack for the festivities. In between gulps of beer, guests can play such games as shuffleboard, billiards or life-size Jenga, as well as compete for prizes in various ways, including a Das Boot drinking contest.

General admission for The LINQ Pool’s Oktoberfest celebration is only $30 and includes all the goodies listed above. For only $5 more, upgrade to a VIP ticket, which gets you early entrance at 7 p.m. and a chance to try rare beer selections not available to general admission ticket holders.
