The 10 Commandments To Conquering Sin City

And then a booming voice was heard…

Longtime Sin City bartender—let’s call him Moises—had just given his final last call when what started as a murmur rose steadily above the fever pitch of rowdy patrons tossing their drinks back. Having one too many himself that night, the chosen one couldn’t believe he was being summoned to deliver sacred, guiding principles to tourists intent on living their best Las Vegas lives.

These edicts weren’t written in stone (or on a tablet), but rather, scribbled illegibly on a slightly damp cocktail napkin—where all the best adventures begin, obviously.

We’ve taken great pains to decipher his chicken scratch and now present the Ten Commandments to conquering the Entertainment Capital of the World:

1. You shall not murder. But thou shalt kill it

OMNIA Las Vegas Club featuring Calvin HarrisIt’s spinning. It’s spinning. What’s spinning? The dance floor, the DJ, your head—all of these things will be moving in hypnotic tandem when you take on OMNIA—the multi-level experience with a ‘Heart,’ at its center.

Pulsating from the ultra-lounge, through the main room and spilling over the terrace, the beat hits you with the sounds of DJ Ruckus, Questlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff and more before you lose yourself completely in the electronic, rhythmic rotations laid down by Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren, Martin Garrix and other EDM heavyweights.

If 75,000 total square-feet of multi-sensory immersion isn’t your idea of a good time, Drai’s Nightclub is a tad bit more intimate and boasts live performances from The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Chromeo, Tyga, Miguel, etc., with more of music’s biggest superstars added to the lineup weekly.

2. Thou shall get high

The High Roller is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas. What happens in Vegas can now be seen from 550 feet above the Strip on the High Roller.

Take a 30-minute joy ride on the world’s tallest observation wheel at sunset and you may begin to feel quite royal as you watch your fellow tourists crisscross Sin City from your glass-cubed perch.

It’s as if you’re directing the neon lit action from where you stand (or sit). But when you shake off your delusions of grandeur and drop your imagined scepter, you’ll discover what waits below wasn’t just for those peasants after all.

3. Thou shall steal—the scene

Chilli Beans at the LINQ is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.Well, that commandment may have gotten lost in translation since the round-the-clock ambiance of the The LINQ Promenade is free, but the goods offered at this millennial marketplace are going to cost you.

You’ll be swiping your card without a care—balances be damned—because while a stroll through the selfie-friendly promenade in and of itself is a blast, adding shopping to the mix is like buying your way into heaven.

The only buyer’s remorse you’ll feel is if you leave 12A.M. Run, Goorin Bros., Pier 30, Kitson, Ruby Blue or Chilli Beans without a bag of sneakers, a cowboy hat, surfer-chic wear, pop culture apparel, naughty girl get-up, or sunglasses in hand.

4. Honor thy liver and thy heart

Spa by Mandara at Planet Hollywood is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas. After a few days of living it up in Vegas, you need to give your body a break. Go ahead, rid your body of toxins, soothe your tired skin and revitalize a casino-frenzied mind that has forgotten how to tell day from night. And aren’t you lucky because we’ve got a treatment at Planet Hollywood’s Spa by Mandara that will do all three with four hands.

The Mandara Four Hands Massage will release the oohs and aahs that have been trapped inside you for way too long. The overall island experience afforded you at this retreat will have your body in Bali and your psyche enthralled. However, if cardio is your thing (why?) the fitness center at Planet Hollywood can give you any workout your little heart requires.

5. Thou shalt not covet your neighbor’s plate

MR CHOW restaurant is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.

MR CHOW has been a longstanding celebrity haunt for years with locations worldwide and two just a 45-minute plane ride away in ritzy Beverly Hills and laid-back Malibu. For years, Angeleno guests would feast “family style” on Beijing Duck and other signature dishes while those in Vegas looked on enviously, but no more!

Sin City patrons will be able to dine alongside famous clientele and partake in effervescent bubbly when the restaurant (and its iconic champagne trolley) head to Caesars Palace next month.

6. thou shalt remain loyal and true

The Crazy Girls show is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.

And really, “Crazy Girls” are best kept at a distance anyway. Am I right?

You’ve already caught these ladies’ bare butts on cabs that whiz by you—or cut you off. Sooner or later you’ll want to catch their sexy backsides in one of the raciest shows to ever hit the Strip so why not now?

Robert DeNiro, Tom Jones, Nicolas Cage, and wise guy Joe Pesci have all beat you to it, as have countless audience members who have been regaled by the topless troupe of enchantresses that put on the Crazy Girls show nightly at Planet Hollywood. It’s about time you see why their taut bottoms are always headliners when it comes to risque’ routines courting controversy.

7. Remember the Sabbath

Lounging at the Soleil Pool at the Paris Las Vegas is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.

For days (and long nights), you shall werk it in Vegas, but on the seventh day, you shall rest…

As those days get shorter and the nights get longer—and cooler, many Las Vegas pools shut it down for the winter season, but not to worry, there are other ways to relax.

Indulge in an express spa sampler package at The LINQ’s spa. Become one with nature when you tour the tranquil grounds that make up the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo. Grab a beer and a game at the hottest spots in Vegas to watch football. However, if you’re still determined to unwind underneath the clouds, Soleil Pool at Paris Las Vegas and Venus Pool at Caesars Palace will provide everything you need, but the promise of the sun’s rays.

8. You shall witness celebrity sightings

Hanging with celebrities at the Heart of OMNIA is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey are just the start of the star power available to you in Las Vegas. And while you might get lucky and catch them out and about on the Strip, you’re more than likely paying to see them in all their glory.

On the other hand, there are a slew of celebs that love Las Vegas just as much as you do and if you’re paying attention, that’s all you’ll have to pay. Turn around, Drizzy Drake is right behind you and Miley Cyrus just sneaked in the DJ booth. Quick, snap a selfie. They make the perfect backdrop.

9. You shall make for yourself an image of anything & everything Vegas

Getting a tat by Justin Van Bibber at Club Tattoo is one of the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas.

With Linkin Park’s frontman Chester Bennington at the helm and the creative artistry of industry innovators Sean and Thora Dowdell at the ready, Club Tattoo can give you the kind souvenir you’ll never be able to leave Vegas (or home) without. Located inside the LINQ and Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile Shops, this is not your typical tattoo shop. And positioned perfectly on your forearm, your inked-up keepsake won’t be the usual memento visitors get from their trip to the Strip.

10. You shall not want a Strip stay elsewhere after us

Stay at one of Caesars Entertainment properties for the best things to do in Las Vegas. That’s why you relish in our accommodations. You already know we have so much to offer; The Cromwell, The LINQ, Planet Hollywood, Paris Las Vegas… the list goes on. But were you aware your visit to our preeminent Caesars Palace is about to get even more outstanding as we revamp our rooms to the tune of 75 million dollars?
