Summer may be coming to an end, but believe us when we say it stays sizzling in Vegas. But if this is your last summer hoorah, you gotta live it up. Here are things to do in Las Vegas in August:
Aug. 1-5
Get Your Palace On
You deserve to live a little, so why not treat yourself to a newly-renovated Palace Tower room at Caesars Palace? Every room is remodeled, so you’re guaranteed to experience a room that’s new. We’re huge fans of the double-door shower, which takes you from the bathroom to the bedroom. You’ll also dig the hip decor with clean lines, grey interior and bold accents.

THE WHO

This legendary rock duo brings their talent to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. THE WHO formed in 1964 and sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Popular hits include “Who Are You?” “Love Reign O’er Me” and “My Generation,” to name a few. They’re also the first rock band to take residency at The Colosseum since the venue opened in 2003. Enjoy them on the following dates: Aug. 1, 4, 7, 9 and 11. Show starts at 8 p.m.
Pitbull
You know you want him: Pitbull returns to Vegas and heats up Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. If you’re ready to see Mr. 305 take over the 702, your summer just got even better. Pitbull is popular for his smash hits “I Know You Want Me,” “Time Of Our Lives” and “Give Me Everything.” He’ll only be here on Wednesday, Aug. 2, then Friday and Saturday, Aug. 4-5. Show starts at 9 p.m. ¡Dale!
International Beer Day
Celebrate International Beer Day on at Paris Las Vegas’ Beer Park on Friday, Aug. 4.
BEER PARK offers an “Around the World” special. Priced at $35, it includes a bucket of six beers from six different countries: U.S.A.’s Budweiser, Belgium’s Delirium Tremens, Mexico’s Estrella Jalisco, Netherlands’ Heineken, Japan’s Kirin Light and Germany’s Schönramer Gold. Pair your drinks with beer-infused grub like Shock Top-marinated bratwurst or fish and chips, prepared with Shock Top-battered Alaskan cod and served with crinkle cut fries.
You can also play pool, foosball and oversized Jenga and Connect Four.
Speaking of alcohol, we’re not partial to beer. Book a stay at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and get a free bottle when you book a room. This includes vodka, gin, rum, tequila or wine.
Jeremih
The Cromwell heats up with R&B singer Jeremih, taking over Drai’s Nightclub stage on Friday, Aug. 4. Popular for the hits “Birthday Sex,” “Worthy,” “Down On Me” and “Don’t Tell ‘Em.” Get your drink on — and your groove on — to your favorite Jeremih songs.
EDM Weekend
EDC may be long gone until next summer, but it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on electronic music. We’re expecting you to dance ‘til the wheels fall off. Calvin Harris performs at OMNIA Nightclub at Caesars Palace on Friday, Aug. 4. The party continues with Zedd the following night on Saturday, Aug. 5.
Montell Jordan
This is how we do it in Vegas: Hang out with Montell Jordan at Flamingo’s GO Pool. We’re sure he’s going to have somethin’ for the hunnies. His ’90s hit, “This Is How We Do It” stays a club banger (22 years later!). It’s great hearing this song through the speakers, but even better when Mr. Montell sings it right in front of you.
Aug. 6 – 12
Nick cannon presents: wild ‘n Out Vegas Pool Party
If you’re a Wild N’ Out fan, the pools at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino are the place to be all summer long. This Vegas pool hosts the first ever World Wildest Pool Party series starring Nick Cannon every Sunday from Aug. 6 through Sept. 10. Doors open at 10 a.m. Be on the lookout — there will be special celebrity guests throughout the summer.
Lit, Alien Ant Farm
Flamingo GO Pool’s Night Jams is going to be lit. And we’re not just talking about hyped up: Alternative band Lit joins Alien Ant Farm for a crazy night of rock ‘n roll on Sunday, Aug. 6. Channel your late ’90s post-grunge self and get ready to jump all night. Don’t be your worst enemy, or even a smooth criminal. Go see these two bands rock out.
Steve Miller Band with special guest, Peter Frampton
Classic rock fans, rejoice: Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Famer Steve Miller and his band will sing all the hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s including “Fly Like An Eagle,” “The Joker,” “Take The Money And Run” and “Jet Airliner.” See them perform live at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace. What are you waiting for? Fly Like An Eagle to Vegas and see them Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
Britney Spears
Even after all these years, pop princess Britney still drives us crazy — in a good way, of course. If you loved Britney’s music videos, you’ll love her live show, “Britney: Piece Of Me.” In her various stage routines, she draws inspiration from her videos but takes it to the next level. You’ll hear all your favorites like “Crazy” and “Oops!…I Did It Again” and we bet you’ll be dancing your tail feather off all night. Catch her Vegas show at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the following dates: Aug. 9, 11-12, 16, 18, 19, 23, 25-26 and 30. Show starts at 9 p.m.
TIP
What you know about that (what you know about that)? T.I. aka TIP aka King of the South brings his rap game to Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell on Saturday, Aug. 12. TIP is known for rap hits like “What You Know,” “Whatever You Like” and “What Up, What’s Happanin’?” His collaboration with Justin Timberlake, “Dead And Gone” earned a Grammy nod.
Aug. 13-19
Richard Marx – Satisfied: Only The Hits
Grammy Award-winning artist Richard Marx will be right here waiting for you at Flamingo Las Vegas. The talented singer/songwriter/producer performs his greatest hits during his limited engagement, “Satisfied: Only The Hits.” Sing along to all your favorites like “Right Here Waiting,” “Should’ve Known Better” and “Hold On To The Nights” starting Aug. 15. Additional August show dates include: August 16-19; 22-26; 29-31. He’ll also perform Sept. 1-2. All shows start at 7:30 p.m.
Rod Stewart: The Hits
Many say some guys have all the luck but you’ll be the one who’s really lucky: Rod Stewart brings his live show to Vegas this month at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. You’ll hear all the hits, including “Some Guys Have All The Luck,” “Maggie May,” “Hot Legs” and “You’re In My Heart,” among many others. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. nightly on the following dates: Aug. 18, 19, 22, 26, 27 and 29.
Kickstart at The LINQ pool
Get ready for some splish-splashin’ fun at The LINQ Pool. See D-Trix, member of Qwest Crew and former “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant on Saturday, Aug. 19. (He did a way cool LINQ video last year.) Kickstart parties include a live DJ set, drink specials, pool toys and a whole lot of fun under the sun.
August 20-26
Steve Martin & Martin Short
See Steve Martin and Martin Short in “An Evening You Will Probably Forget For The Rest Of Your Lives” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Get ready to laugh all night with these “Saturday Night Live” alums as they talk about their years in comedy, as well as funny outlooks on everyday life.
J Boog
Get a feel of the islands with reggae artist J Boog performing at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas at The LINQ Promenade. J Boog is popular for hits like “Let’s Do It Again,” “Waiting On The Rain” and “Sunshine Girl.” He’s here for one night only on Friday, Aug. 25, so catch him while you can. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Before the show, grab a bite a sushi burrito at Jaburritos, located across Brooklyn Bowl. From Monday through Friday, you can enjoy half-off sake sangria and beer.
Aug. 27-31
Smash Mouth
Flamingo GO Pool’s Night Jams welcomes rock band Smash Mouth. They’ll perform their hits from the ’90s. You better go and catch this “All Star” performance on Sunday, Aug. 27. Show starts at 7 p.m.
Last Chance For Pools
We’re approaching the end of summer, so we have pools on our mind. Looking for fun ideas? Besides Kickstart at The LINQ and Nick Cannon’s pool party at Planet Hollywood mentioned earlier, you can also head to Caesars Palace’s Garden of The Gods Pool Oasis. Spoil yourself with poolside spa services by Qua Baths & Spa. For a fun and casual day, Harrah’s Las Vegas has loungers at the shallow end of the pool. You can read more in our Vegas pool personality blog.
Fly High
You don’t have much time to take advantage of the High Roller’s summer family special. For $59, enjoy a daytime ride that includes admission for two adults and two youth tickets. Children three and younger ride free. This special is good through Monday, Sept. 4.
Cool Off With A Sweet Treat
Throughout the month of August, you can enjoy Amorino’s flavor of the month, sudachi, which is a Japanese citrus fruit. We hear it’s the world’s best fruit. (By the way, all of the gelato treats at Amorino at The LINQ Promenade are vegan-friendly.) We still have tons of hot days ahead, so discover more ways to keep cool in Vegas.
