Hidden gems don’t have to be restricted to the darkest corners in town. The ones we’re about to share with you are in the heart of the city — many on the Las Vegas Strip. You’d be surprised how many visitors and locals alike haven’t frequented these spots.

Come check out these top 10 out-of-the-box and fun things to do on the Las Vegas Strip:

High Roller delights

So the High Roller wheel at The LINQ Promenade has a thing where you can walk into one cabin and it’s happy hour. Walk into another and it’s chocolate and wine tasting. Or if you’re all about fitness, there’s even a cabin that’s dedicated to Silent Savasana yoga. Whichever you decide of the three, you’ll be in your own little world, 550 feet in the sky. You can always do a standard ride and bring the family, but it’s fun to know you can take your High Roller experience to another level.

Las Vegas bunk bed rooms at the Flamingo Las Vegas

We call top bunk! This Flamingo bunk bed suite is the ultimate Vegas sleepover. Photo courtesy of Caesars Entertainment.

Bunk bed rooms On The Strip

What? You mean you didn’t sign up for summer camp? Of course you didn’t. You signed up for Vegas. And what better way to crash with your squad than in a bunk bed room? You can find bunk bed rooms at The LINQ Hotel + Experience. But if you’re coming with a bigger party, the posh Flamingo Las Vegas hotel offers a suite. This Flamingo bunk bed suite comes with two bunk beds, with both bottom bunks offering a queen size bed. (Ain’t no party like a bunk bed party, y’all!)

Since we’re on this unique Vegas room kick, we thought we’d let you in on another fun one. So maybe bunk beds aren’t your thing. Perhaps a bed steps away from the pool is more your jam. If you love to chill by the pool all day, take a nap and repeat, this LINQ Poolside Cabana Room is for you. Bonus: Your private pool patio offers immediate food and drink service. You have everything you need and wouldn’t even need to leave your room.

Cleopatra’s Barge

Walk like an Egyptian right into one of Caesars Palace‘s best-kept secrets: Cleopatra’s Barge. Here you can chill and drink on the bar’s built-in barge with water beneath you. It’s a vibe unlike anything you’d expect tucked in a bustling Vegas hotel. You can also catch free, live lounge acts on weekend nights. And some would argue these acts are the best in town.

Wait, what? You can go on a water slide on the Strip? Why yes you can. Flamingo Beach Club. Photo courtesy of Jeannie Garcia / Total Vegas Blog.

Water slides at Flamingo Las Vegas’ Beach Club

Earlier we brought up bunk beds and now we’re bringing up water slides. (Nostalgic, much?) Whether you have kids or you’re just a kid at heart (this blogger has kids and is also a kid at heart herself), you can zip down these water slides in the tropical-inspired Beach Club pool at Flamingo Las Vegas. The tropical atmosphere, complete with lush foliage, adds to your middle-of-the-Strip paradise.

Wine Cellar And Tasting Room At The Rio

This spot is not for kids, but you’ll definitely be giddy like one after visiting the Wine Cellar and Tasting Room at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. How would you like to brag to your friends that you visited a Vegas wine cellar that holds an original piece of history? The wine collection features a wine bottle owned by Thomas Jefferson. Now that we got that fun tidbit out of the way, here you can choose from a selection of 100 different wines by the glass. Pair your wine with appetizing small bites.

Arctic Ice Room at Qua Baths & Spa

In the words of the great West Coast legend Dr. Dre: “So just chill… ‘til the next episode.” That’s exactly what you’ll be doing at Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Palace. If you truly want to feel miles away from Vegas, this spot does the trick. We can tell you from personal experience that it feels super refreshing to put your back against the wall, just like this lucky gal in the photo.

172 Lounge at the Rio All-suite hotel & Casino

For a different kind of night out in Vegas, head to 172 Lounge at the Rio. You can see a wide range of acts here, ranging from chart-topping musicians and local tribute bands. To add a fun, appetizing twist to your evening, you can have dinner with your show. 172 Lounge has an impressive cocktails and sushi menu.

We’ll take sightseeing with our shopping, please. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Photo courtesy of Caesars Entertainment.

The Forum Shops spiral escalator At Caesars Palace

You’d be shocked how many people haven’t seen this part of The Forum Shops, and we guess it’s because you entered the mall through the casino side and didn’t walk far enough. Even if you planned on just window shopping, this is a sight worth seeing. The spiral escalator alone is an experience and you’ll be ooh-ing and ahh-ing the entire way.

If you’re not about luxury shopping, you can still marvel at the remarkable architecture. The Forum Shops has a three-story H&M where you can treat yourself without hurting your wallet.

Drai's Nightclub in the Cromwell in Las Vegas

We’ll take a twilight swim, thank you very much! Drai’s Nightclub. Photo courtesy of Caesars Entertainment.

Night Swim Parties At Drai’s Nightclub

If you’re not fond of that Vegas sun you won’t have to worry about that here at Drai’s Nightclub’s summer Night Swim events at The Cromwell. Ditch the sunscreen and enjoy live music. Sometimes the Night Swim parties feature a special guest. Snoop Dogg and Nelly have both performed at this gorgeous rooftop venue.

Trust us: Vegas is filled with plenty of other gems. We’ll be doing another one of these again so stay tuned for more.

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love hitting up all the city's vegan spots, having staycations and catching shows by my favorite musical acts. Since I've ditched rainy Seattle 20+ years ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas hotel and entertainment articles for, the LA Times, Frommer's and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me hanging with my two girls, along with our shih-tzu and tiger cat.
