Unexpected Vegas Pool Delights

An awesome pool experience should be more than just drinks with little umbrellas, upbeat music and free towel service. In Vegas, you’ll get all of that — and then some.

Daytime concerts. Night swim parties. Celebrity appearances. Endless drink and dining options. These are just a few of the unexpected pool delights you’ll have in Vegas.

So pack your swim suit, shades and tanning lotion. Here’s everything you’ll get when you hit the Vegas pool scene:

Daytime Concerts

Not much of a night owl or do you just want to party around the clock? A daytime concert is perfect for you.

We still can’t get over seeing R&B sweetheart Mya a couple of summers ago – she was that good. That’s why we love the summer concert series at Flamingo Las Vegas’ GO Pool. You can see your favorite artists perform live, all while dancing in the pool. Past headliners included Sisqo, Ja Rule, Tinashe, Lit and Sugar Ray to name a few. Stay up to date with the latest schedule.

Drai’s Beach Club also hosts live sets every weekend, mostly EDM artists, with past appearances from Deux Twins, Troy Boi and others. This summer, you can see A-Trak, Kittens and Showtek alternating on select weekends. “Jersey Shore” sensation DJ Pauly D will return to the stage April 6 and 20 and May 5. Get your GTL in check, bruh!

Located at Caesars Palace’s 21-and-older Venus Pool, head to Cove Beach and enjoy signature parties:

  • Rosé Soiree Thursdays: Limitless rosé from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Shisha tobacco flavors are also available.
  • Little Havana Fridays: Inspired by Miami’s Little Havana, enjoy salsa dancing, specialty drinks and Shisha.
  • FRSH Saturdays: ’90s R&B and hip-hop fans can enjoy live music and Shisha at this fresh throwback party.
  • JMRCK Sundays: Chill out while listening to Caribbean music during this laid-back Sunday party.

Night Swim Parties

If you can’t get enough of the pools, you can go for round two. Drai’s Beach Club transforms into Night Swim once a week during the summer months. In previous years, rap legend Snoop Dogg did live shows during the twilight pool party. We hope he comes back. (Fa shizzle, my nizzle!)

Food, Food and more Food

We’re not one to turn down nachos, burgers or hot dogs but sometimes we want something more upscale to match our posh pool experience. While we all like the aforementioned eats, we can go for something a bit more adventurous.

Planet Hollywood’s Scene Pool offers a margherita flatbread with vine ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. You can also feast on the Waldorf chicken wrap: grilled chicken with grapes, celery, walnuts and lemon herb aioli, served in a spinach tortilla wrap.

But let’s taco ’bout The Taco Bar at The LINQ’s Influence Pool. Aside from delicious tacos, pool goers can also nosh on a vegan-friendly ceviche made with cauliflower.

If you’re into Dole Whip, you don’t have to travel all the way to Disneyland for it: Influence Pool, as well as the pool at Harrah’s Las Vegas, offers this refreshing poolside treat. Drai’s Beach Club cafe also serves chilled fruit to keep you cool.

Delicious Drinks

You don’t have to settle for a diet soda or a water with a lemon. You’re in Vegas, so your drinks should be as fancy as your vacay.

At Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods, you can drink fresh juice (with or without alcohol) out of a real pineapple or coconut.

Planet Hollywood’s Scene Pool has its Blue Chill lemonade, made Ketel One vodka, fresh lemonade, and blueberries and the Cocojito` Mojito, made with Bacardi pineapple fusion rum, fresh pineapple juice, coconut, fresh lime and mint.

Flamingo’s GO Pool offers a Vegas Vice cocktail made with Malibu tropical banana and coconut rum, mixed with piña colada and strawberry daiquiri.

Plan on making a day of it? Rio’s VooDoo Beach offers its $100 bottomless drinks. You’ll be in good company: Sip your drink while relaxing by waterfalls and palm trees.

If you’re not a cocktail person, The LINQ’s Influence Pool has several craft beer options. Cheers to that!

Playtime For Everyone

Enough about drinks. What do rooftop surfing, water slides and over-sized board games all have in common? They’re all on the Strip.

At Planet Hollywoood’s Scene Pool you can perfect your Hang 10 on the FlowRider. Whether you’re a beginner boogie boarder or a sensational surfer, you can do both on this simulated wave machine. The FlowRider even hosts surfing competitions. Look forward to these events in August.

Surfing may not be your thing, so that’s what water slides are for. For the kids and kids-at-heart you can enjoy water slides at Flamingo Beach Club. While it’s tempting, try not to cut kids in line (and yes, that includes your own!).

Take a break from the pool altogether and play larger-than-life games. Influence Pool at The LINQ and the Scene Pool at Planet Hollywood both have giant beer pong, while the pool at Harrah’s Las Vegas has giant chess.

Beat the heat and then some: Both Planet Hollywood and The LINQ have enclosed air-conditioned areas. The LINQ’s REQ room has two pool tables, a shuffle board, a foosball table and flat-screen TVs airing your favorite sports. Planet Hollywood’s indoor café / arcade has flat-screen TVs, air hockey, ping pong, pool tables and a punching bag game.

When you’re ready to step back into the sun, you can also play corn hole (at Planet Hollywood) or Jenga (at The LINQ). At The LINQ, you can even request a beer pong table delivered right to your cabana.

The Best Places To Unwind

Let’s be real: The No. 1 reason you’re coming to Vegas is to escape reality. And as much as Vegas has its party town reputation, it has its relaxing qualities too.

If you want to be in the water but lay out at the same time, the pool at Harrah’s Las Vegas has loungers in its shallow end area.

For those who really want to ease their troubles away, Caesars Palace’s Garden of the Gods offers poolside massages through the hotel’s QUA Baths & Spa. Whether you have it in the shade, under misters or in your own private cabana, you’ll be whisked away to heavenly bliss.

And finally, if you’re coming here with no other plans but to relax, party and splash in the pool, you should stay in a hotel room steps away from the action. Each LINQ Poolside Cabana room comes with a personal patio, each leading right to the pool area. Check out the cabana room for yourself and let the good times roll.

About The Author

I live for a crazy Vegas adventure, but not in ways you may think. Sure, our nightlife scene is all fun and dandy, but I love discovering all of the city's vegan options, relaxing in hotel rooms and seeing the best concerts - no matter how big or small the crowd may be. Since I've ditched the rain in Seattle two decades ago, I graduated from UNLV and covered Las Vegas entertainment articles for Vegas.com, the LA Times and our very own Total Vegas Blog. When I'm not writing, you'll find me spending time with my husband, toddler and two pets.
